![]() Ok first off i think everyone has run into dead ends on the library but i wanted to make this thread solely for information regarding the secrets of that room. Theres a good post in the history and lore section about the script run from the Book of Sunder and all the possible variants which end up being dead ends as well. I know myself and other group members have spent hours in the room trying to figure out what it's all about. I've noticed to the left of the cauldron there is a patch on the floor that when you scan over it with your arrow it gives you a message about markings on the floor and something heavy being moved from the secret room. Also while we were just standing there i got stuck in a part of the room and ended up pulling some mobs that I had never seen in the zone. We got group of four of the little flying undead mobs with tentacles (like the ones in the eq2 trailor) "a baleful essence", "a calamitous essence", "a malign essence" and "a sinsiter essence". And ya the sinsiter is mispelled on the mob =p so reads the parser. Having never seen the mobs before gives more concrete evidence that there is more to the zone that is yet to be uncovered. So if anyone has any information they want to share i'm sure we could get that room solved.

I think the patch of floor that looks like osmrhting has been moved is actually the idol you receive at the end, the only thing that makes me wonder is that the Omnimous army is a berserker, why give it a class if you can't kill it or it doesnt do something?

![]() When you get there, and look in the door, you shouldn't see any mobs. If someone has stepped in, it spawns them. Pull them out of the room, without entering, and kill them. Once the room is clear, everyone run staight across, open the door (which is a secret door, looks like a bookshelf), and everyone into the next room asap. Kill all the stuff that follows you in. Click on all the stuff in there, and it will unlock new passages (maybe even do this before killing all the stuff that follows you in, in case you wipe). Run back through the library, and into the hall. Kill all the adds that follow, and proceed. This is how we did it any way. Not sure what exactly causes the adds to spawn, whether it's people stepping on things, or simply people entering the room. Be nice to find out exactly what causes the books to spawn, for future reference though. We had 2 good healers, a fabled tank, Illusionist to mezz some, and 2 DPS, and cleared our first run through, having known nothing about what was inside prior to going in. I would suspect that when you got locked in that part of the room with some other adds, that these other adds came from a nearby room, that somehow aggroed through a wall or somethin. |

The books I found to continually spawn while someone is inside the library. In an attempt to get to the secret back room, my group tried to clear through (we had no enchanter and 2 healers that were busy cybering each other). We got swamped all of the sudden with books, numbers jumped from 2-3 to 7-9. We were fighting in that first corner on the right-- our first stop in crawling through that room. Afterwards, these books aggroed through the wall/door as we tried to just walk past to the next tower.

What, exactly, does the "stuff" open? We have gone in there plenty of times and sat there clicking everything with nothing happening. Book doesn't progress, Cauldron tells us we're not Everlings, and the Tinmizer just sits there. Nothing else is clickable in that room.

![]() it's not stepping on things but simply spending time in the room. the books in the library spawn after e few seconds, thus let your group run simultaneasly to the secret door, if ur groups just spents 2 or 3 seconds in the library, not a single additional book will spawn. back to topic: did not figure out how to open the locked doors throughout the zone.

To be honest, I don't remember where it opened something up. I know that we tried going every possible way up until this point. We also went into the library, and just killing stuff, and kept getting more and more, and died. On our way back, we double checked to be sure we didn't skip any areas (we didn't). Then we ran through the library and into the next room, and killed the books that followed. Clicked everything in there, and the one thing kept saying the answer we gave was wrong, don't worry about that, it seems it says your wrong, no matter what you pick. Then we ran back out into the hall, killed the books that followed, and didn't know what to do. We looked around, and found a way we couldn't go before. The end of the dungeon, is where nek 1 and nek 2 started. |

Not sure if someone else has seen this:When I hail the couldron in the hidden room in the library it says that I'm not looking like an Everling. Now I asked if someone in the group has the vampire illusion. A scout had the illusion and hailed the couldron in vampire form... same anwser. Then he used the darkelf illusion and got a different anwser: he shall not touch the ladies or something like this. It was late and we had to stop there.May be you have to use a specific illusion to get more information from the pot.

Well the Guise of the Deciever is from the original nek zone and he was storing it in a strongbox in his lab, what if thats the key?

![]() He asks you to not touch his ladle. You'd get that response regardless of what illusion you're in, as he has 3 or 4 things he says at random when you hail. |

![]() Ok did this again last night, so I remember more now. When we all ran through the library to the next room, and also when we ran back through to the hallway, we only had 2 books each time, so everyone speeding it at the same time helps alot.
When you first arrive to the library, and go past it, there's a dead end there. Once you go into that hidden room off the library, and hail everything to the end, and return, that dead end hallway, is no longer a dead end.
Also did it with no problems using 1 healer instead of 2, thanks to our great illusionist. Message Edited by FightGame on 08-18-2006 01:43 PM |

i've done many quests back in t5 when there weren't any spoilers available. heritages, quests for hidden secrets, etc. and what i have learned about eq2: if you can't solve a riddle in 30 minutes it's broken or not existant.i'd be very surprised if the book actually gives some quests.
