![]() I honestly dont like this idea that they get instant access AND can buy tickets. The instant access I dont see as an issue because by 30 alot of them should be able to complete the quest. However I dont like the idea that they can simply get a level and buy tickets as the rest of us who have leveled have not been able to do this until completing the quest. There should be a penalty for not doing the quest IMO. This simply makes the game into a leveling thing that anyone can do with no penalties for simply power leveling to the top of the scale. As the old saying goes, THERE IS NO FREE RIDE! Don't give out the tickets simply for leveling.

Even though I have not yet done the quests on either of my characters and I have full access to all T4 and T5 zones as my 50 alchemist, I think that the privilege to buy tickets should be the ongoing reward for doing the quests. No one should automajically get the ability to buy tickets simply by hitting thus and so level mark.

I agree with this. I've completed the T4 access quests and I have access to T5 due to artisan levels. I shouldt be able to buy tickets to the T5 until I complete the access quests. This wont hinder artisans any as they can get to the zone, just cant buy tickets.

From what i understand, you have always gained access to EL and Zek at lvl 32 if you dont do the access quests.

![]() you have always been able to get tickets with auto access, i got auto access with zek and have been able to buy tickets there for 15 levels. thats the only one i have waited for auto access for though, had too much to do in el to worry about killing more ocs at the time.

Correct.Since day 1, once you get auto-access to EL/Zek/Feerrott/EF/LS, you can purchase the ticket in Qeynos Harbor or East Freeport. Even if you have not completed the quest yet.No real change here. The only reward for doing the access quests is to get to these zones prior to the auto-access levels.

Yeah, the only change here is that we're lowering access by a couple levels. You could always bypass the access quests if you wanted, though I highly recommend them because they're fun to experience.

Except Ls, I agree. At 46, I can buy a ticket to EL/Zek/Feerrott/EF but not LS. Dunno why, I just can't. Bad part it is the biggest PITA to get to since the bell is on the other side of EL.

As a benefit for actually doing the quest, why not make the tickets free for those who complete the quests?

![]() Because it shrinks the world dramatically. Travel should always require something. That 'something' is usually comprised of (3) things, and you can often trade-off between these (3) things. The following example is for EQ1, prior to Shadows of Luclin.:1) Time - Run, run, run, as fast as you can. It's free, but carries some risk (aggro from mobs, falling off of cliffs, drowning under the water). On the downside, it's often boring. On the plus, it forces the player to explore (at least a little) the zones between point A and point B.2) Money - In EQ1, this was paying someone to port you and your group from A to B. In EQ2, this is the price of boat tickets. You're paying for the convenience of not having to hoof it. Current boat ticket prices are cheap once you hit 35+, and the time saved is well worth the 60-120sp for a ticket. If there were porting classes, I would expect players to charge ~25-75sp per head for ports.3) Effort - This doesn't exist in EQ2 yet. But in EQ1, the 'effort' was leveling up yourself as a porting class (druid/wizard). Or making friends with a porting class. Or networking with porting class players so that you could call on them when you needed a ride from point A to point B.EQ2 would suffer the same fate as EQ1 if free travel were to be implemented. The current situation in EQ1 is that everyone flocks to the same 'uber' zones because it's painless to get to those 'uber' zones. Instead of an evenly spread population, you end up with everyone pretty much crowded into just a few zones.

![]() In EQLive you used to PAY druids and Wizards to PORT you to different locations, cos you were too idle to run there. The boat system is just replacing the lack of any TAXI classes. Also It's a nice little plat sink to drain a little more money from the economy.

EF access quest is one we have been working on, but I am having difficulty seeing how we will be able to complete it before we can all access the content via our level. I think EF requires level 42. At 38, there are RED con mobs that I'm suppose to kill for the quest.

At 38, Everfrost access quest is easy... except for the boat ride.Find a brigand/swashbuckler with group sneak and you'll only have to kill the corrupted mobs in Rivervale for those 5 drops. Everything else, I was able to simply sneak around to get the items from the different locations.

I couldn't find a Dev post addressing the posters' concerns about the difficulty, or bugginess, or apparent inconsistency in experiences, of thost two particular boat rides, so I'm curious if there is any new information, or fix, or adjustment, that would make doing these a worthwhile endeavor for a group of pre-42 players for anything other than cool special effects and debt accumulation? :smileyindifferent: |

I don't know about LS, but I completed the EF boat ride at level 37 with a similarly-leveled group, very little problem. We had one qipe, then went back and ran it perfectly once we knew what to do.

Spoilers for EF and LS boats below... . . . . . . The trick to beating the Lavastorm boat is to kill the first wave of sootfoot goblins and take their water bottles and then evac back to EL. Head back onto the boat and do it again for three more if you're unsure of yourself. That way you start the boat with six extra bottles of water. My guild group did it with only three extra bottles. The EF boat is simple now that they tuned the drakota down from 42^^^ to just 42^^. Just assign two people to wind the cranks over and over and over and never stop. You won't get a single frost wight spawn. . . . . . . . . No more spoilers. I do kind of agree that tickets should be a reward for completing the boat quests.

![]() can you buy tickets if you have done the quest and are not yet level 30 though? BTW I agree the access quests need more reward to them heh... maybe allow tickets to be cheaper if you have done the quest? (afterall you did help one of their fellow captains...)

I was wondering if that would work. We have very few swash/brigand and I didn't know if it would work on reds.

Make sure that your brigand has an adept1 (or higher version of group sneak).Con *everything*.Named mobs have been very flakey the last few weeks. Sometimes they see through invis, other times they don't. It's very hit-or-miss (which is okay).
