A video (broken into 3 parts) documenting the one major defining episode of my main character's life - her defection.Part 1 Part 2Part 3DescriptionsPart 1 - Kaewan's journey begins! She finds that things are not always easy (6 minutes)Part 2 - Kaewan wants to become a paladin, a paragon of good, so reacts badly when asked to slay 400 gnolls (2 minutes 10 seconds)Part 3 - Lots of fighting! Kaewan slays the gnolls (without really meaning to) but discovers that she has come full circle (4 minutes 22 seconds)The film took 3 whole days (and nights) to make. A day to film, a day to compose the footage, a day to add the text ... and a panic half-day when I had to chop the film up because it was too big to exportThe film is in three parts because even with 2gigabites of Ram ... Windows Movie Maker will still run out of memory if I try to save more than 6 minutes of full-size fraps footage to one file. Something to be careful of in future.I also seem to have stumbled upon a way to have very high quality videos on YouTube! Take full-size footage with fraps, then when you save your movie with Windows Movie Maker select the "Best fit to file size" option and lower the size in MB's until the settings details (lower left in the same window) shows a 320x240 display size. The goal is to get as big a file as possible while keeping to 320x240.The film still has to be in YouTubes limits though (10 minutes or 100MB)... oh yes ... rate my videos please! :smileyhappy:

WOW!! I absolutly love this! This is an EXELLENT story about betrayel. It gave me shivers in a few places! The music was good. The quality was good (for Youtube lol) and I love how you brought in the 360 degree screenshots in there as well. The only complaint I have is the text. Sometimes it was kind of hard to read, since it was white text over your white breastplate, I would have moved all the text  south onto the bottem black screen.

In my opinion, this should get treasure chested. Its amazing. I love it.

My Other Opinions That Include Spoilers (Highlight to read!):
The best part of the story to me is how she didnt want to kill gnolls becaus she wants to become "good", and i LOVE how the fighting actually starts because THEY attack HER, which eventually brings out the teridal blood in her and her frenzy takes over her. I love it.
One thing that moved too quickly in the story I think is how she became a paladin. It was like, one second she was sad she killed gnolls then boom, she was a paladin already teaching someone else.

Anyways, It's a great story. Keep on makin more hunnie :smileyvery-happy:

this was nice SMILEY i really liked the story lines - it makes it much more lively and fun to watch the story SMILEY

some really nice camerawork too - you can disable sound recording within fraps though it was nice
sometimes ( the scene with the troll talking stupid stuff like trolls do ^^ )

the targetting arrow can also be turned off.

but one big critique :

what the hell was the music in the end? in my opinion a nasty techno song wich totally did not fit in the scheme of
the movie SMILEY

anyway that was a great film - keep it up ( and i may suggest you to buy fraps - its not expensive and your work
is worth a full version SMILEY )

My favorite part was when the Teir'dal was trying to fight the hate to overcome her.  Really nice effects there too at that time.   Very good ending too.

Disable the target arrows, ring, quest icon above npcs, and try to incorporate more emotes.  Other than that, nice job.  :smileyhappy:

Outstanding video Kaewan!  Loved the 360 degree screenshots and the bit about not being able to run from evil.

Apart from the targeting arrows (which is going to be difficult for you as your fighting) and sound effects in game etc (thats all about learning though).. it would have been nice to continue the music theme rather than the techno bit that was in there at the beginning of part 3.

Wonderful film though, looking forward to more... /applause

Very kewl. Great job! SMILEY Thanks for the tips too, I'm going to try and make my own video when I have time. Just wasn't sure which movie software to use since I got a few different ones that came with graphics cards. I'll try Movie Maker like you did. SMILEY

As a fellow dark elf in the Queen's service allow me to welcome you to the lovely city of Qeynos!Trust me when I tell you that the gnolls would just as soon spit on you as kill. This is a fact you are already most readily aware of as evidenced in the movies presented here. You were not there when they invaded Qeynos and attempted to kill all citizens for selfish and senseless reasons. If not for the bravery of the good to overcome the evil dogs of war little Nathan would not be asking if we've ever seen a gnoll before! You did the right thing. Hold your head high knowing that the lands of Antonica are a better place with 400 less gnolls around.Nice job on the movies!

Nice job with the video, there. Your camera work is good, but I think you could work a little on pacing your film. It's not just a series of small parts, but try to consider the pace of the whole project as a whole.

I like mature, complex themes and this one was definitely in that direction. I like the flawed character and how she's naive at the beginning. She thinks she can be a thing of fairy tales and tries to ignore the truth of her being. It comes out and she's disillusioned as a result. I think that's closer to the truth of any hero, to be honest, than some vague glorified rumor of one. They are glorified to the point of invincibility and we easily forget their mistakes or flaws. I don't think your character should worry too too much about losing control. It doesn't make her unworthy of being a paladin; it means she has internal obstacles to overcome, just like everyone else.

If a person had to be a being of purity and perfection to be a paladin, we wouldn't HAVE any!
