Hello all SMILEY

After watching the creations from the masters on here, my husband and I decided it was time to give it a try.

The inspiration for the movie came from this particular song.  I was driving in my car one day as it started playing, and suddenly I was seeing the scenes.  My husband at the time was away for a month on business.  So I listened daily to this song, and envisioned.

The poor guy didn't even get in the door before I was having him listen to the songs, and my disjointed ideas LOL... He hasn't seen the sun once since he came home three days ago. SMILEY

I am both excited and scared at having you all view this lol.. this being our first eq2 fan film, I hope it doesn't suck too badly :p  At any rate, he and I had an absolutely wonderful time making this together SMILEY  I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it!

PS. he apologizes for the purple leg armor LOL

edited to add some new links.   Thank you Gendgi for the movie poster SMILEY

Hello!

First of all let me just say that for your first work and in such a short time its amazingly done!

The soundtrack has everything to do with the movie, the transactions between still pics and the movie itself are very smooth, the special effects are really cool, i think that breaking the portrait its a Very Cool Effect hehe.

Congratulations to you guys, Gerund and Luna for making this beatifull story, and... be ready for MORE! MUHAHAHA

Yeah, that's a good one, nice work. I get my inspiration the same way, from the songs... the more powerful the song (to me) the more clearly the images/story unfold as I listen. You did your hubby a service with this one SMILEY I like a vid with a good story. Keep em coming...

Amazing for your first video!  I would have brightened up the darker scenes a little bit, but other than that, it was really good!  Well done.  :smileyhappy:

Oh very nice!!  I especially liked the SK scenes - very poignant.  I especially liked the shot of him looking into the mirror, then geared up, then looking down.    Huge sucker for SK's and you picked the perfect soundtrack. My only (very subjective) constructive suggestion is not major, but would be perhaps a change in music for the credits?   It may just be me, but it doesn't seem to quit flow with the haunted/inner struggle theme of the main piece.   I dug through mp3s and found one tune that didn't work at all SMILEY, but! it had a heartbeat going in the background - and the heartbeat was kind of neat.   There's also song by Witchcraft called Cathedral that might work well (obscure though).  One of the side benefits I'm really loving about the EQ2 videos - I'm finding all kinds of new music to buy recently.  SMILEY    Loved that Stain'd track.

DL'd the larger version and rewatched (made my husband come see SMILEY), couple things to add: The fight scenes for the SK - particularily the DE shot and the knees - awesome. The reflections in the water were a great touch!! I think some people have a knack for bringing an idea to life, and life to characters/story - I think this is what you've done very well here.

Hiya Ninibi SMILEY

Ya I love his part in the story.  SMILEY Hers came through a bit too subtley I think, but then her story is an "everygirl/anygirl" one.  In the end we decided to let his story be the highlight.

And so glad you caught the reflections!!  We thought at first it might be too hard to see and easily missed, but figured that it would be fun to have a piece or two in the movie that was not obviously apparent on a first or even second viewing.  I love watching these kinds of movies more than once, discovering something new each time SMILEY

The end credits music.. I agree, not the best choice.  I was in danger of losing Gerund to sleep and had to find a song fast! lol

I figure as the "poor hubby", I should probably respond to the gracious feedback we have received concerning our video.  Thank you everyone for your rather positive feedback!  While Lunara is quite the task master, we both really enjoyed making this video.  We have ideas for several more, although at this point, I'm not sure which one will solidify into a finished movie first.  The "music video" format, to me anyway, is fairly straight forward.  The musicians have already created the story and we, as movie makers, have only to make it appear on the screen.  Perhaps we will lean toward another one of those before breaking out with a story of our own to tell.:smileyhappy:Another interesting thing about this one is that the only money spent beyond EQ2 subscription was the $37 it cost to register FRAPS (www.fraps.com)  We used Windows Movie Maker (free with Windows XP) to put it all together.  The couple of stills we used were manipulated with Roxio Photosuite 5, which was also a free download from www.roxio.com.  Just thought it was interesting that using inexpensive (read: free) software doesn't mean you can't make a quality movie.Lastly, if you really enjoyed the movie, tell your friends about it.  We made it with the hopes that a lot of people would watch and enjoy it!:smileyvery-happy:Thanks again,GerundPS.If you have trouble with any of the links in the original post, here is yet another location to download from:"Within" Video (hosted by www.filefront.com)

I liked the Video, I like your Tube because you don't have to download anything. BTW how do you get the reflections in the mirrors again one day they stopped working for me (Even had the water bug of a bunch of horizontal lines but I managed to fix that but not the reflections)

I had mine set at Options>Display>Water.  Environment Cube Map Updates: fastest (1 time)

Options>Display>Water.  Reflections: Mirror + Cube Map (best)

Options>Display>Water.  Reflections inside a house: Mirror + Cube Map (best)

Hope that helps SMILEY

Astounding!  The perfect song for the perfect story.   The griffon flight shots were excellent.  The picture breaking scene was awesome.   The mirror scenes (fading and the SK looking down) were flawless.    I love it!  Now the "constructive critisism".  His SK armor  was distracting.  I don't picture "the devil"  wearing that.  haha.If I were you I'd hit the broker for any cheap armor that matches his helmet. But seriously guys, this was an AMAZING video.  You'll make more or suffer.  :smileyvery-happy:

Lovely movie, I was very entertained by it. Did you collect all of the imagery all at once when you decided to make the movie or bit and pieces as you played?
