yeah the good ol' days.. when there was EVERY kinda /command possible... so many different ones that some never even got used.. and heaven forbid if you started playing EQLive round the time Omens of War came out... that one just killed it for me. I like EQII's "Simpiler" method of designing much better with everything already in the options and all you have to do is point and click UI.

I cannot express my feelings of warmth and nostalgia for the Norrath of old any better than these shiniing individuals already have. Observe, and enjoy... be warned, this could cause a tear or two if you're an old timer like me :smileytongue:

Both have excellent soundtracks, and the second brought back a LOT of memories.

I miss the old days of eq1, it was so much fun, eq1 is way to complicated now, with gates of discord and further expansions.

Here's a few of mine:

it's kind of a cruddy pic but the dragon is Ragefire who was a cleric epic mob in the Skyfire mountains.  He looks like he is about to eat that necro over there.

This one is my EQ1 paladin at lvl 12.  They sure grow up fast.

Not sure if this was a Tallon or Vallon Zek raid.

This one is a pic of my guild XPing in the Crypt of Nadox.

It's japanese...I can read it but not very well so I still gotta rely on the english words =D (com'on guys get your asian languages straight.)beautiful videos though, nearly cried =( I saw something similar to that but for FFXI which I've played for a LONG time but quit for EQ2, cried soooo much during that.

I loved all the models pre-Luclin, including the skeletons and wolves (the original ones)

It's great you can use the original player models but what made me mad as heck was not being able to go back to the OLD original skeleton and wolf models GRRR!!!

The original skeletons had many diff models. One was the normal skeleton with glowing eyes, the others were taller skeletons with blood stains all over them and you could see their guts in their stomache area...it was awesome...then Luclin came out and all skeletons looked the same and mongoloid like.

LDoN Skeletons were better than Luclin ones but still not the originals SMILEY

actually you could modify it and put in the original models... but i remember there was some consequence to it or something... think it was that they were in same pack file as bestlord pets so ud go back to old models but bestlord pets would be invisible

Someone needs to sort through the old screenies and pull up shots of the heritage items with stats.

And yes, back in the day this was the best thing going.  EQ was ground breaking and we all played, with our jaws on the floor, wondering which way we were heading because sense heading was a pain to level, and running up hills, both ways, with snow so deep we had to walk ontop of castle walls to keep from disapearing until thaw.

*god I am old*

"Compass... HA!  MAP.... MAAAPs?!  We didnt have maps when weeeee played.  We were real men back then.  You FEARED the night as you huddled around your wisp stone.  You explored zones from 50 feet up the zone wall out of FEAR of what was waiting for you.  Compas... BAHHH!"
