Cheap Shot after level 30

I often use this stealth combo when I solo:

Cheap Shot -> Shadow -> Poisoner's Blade or Assassin Blade

Lately, I've noticed that the target will wake up before I get a chance to finish the combo, thus canceling the PB. At first, I thought it was the poison kicking in, Blade Furry, or my DoT's. However, even after not using any of them, it still happens. Testing on stuff that's blue or lower works ok.

My Cheap Shot is AppIII, so I am looking to upgrade it. I just want to know if anyone else had this problem and if upgrading fixed it.

IIRC....Cheap shot has no skill ceiling; the skill being grey doesn't affect it's effectiveness.It grows with you forever just like Evade.

so, if i have a copper cluster it'd be worth it to have an adept 3 made?

The quality of the spell...App1 Adept 3 I do not think has any impact on the spell performance, only levels raise the performance. AFAIK

That being said it is possible im wrong, I saw on the broker for the past few days somebody selling adept 3 pathfinding which I thought like evade and cheap shot were independant from quality.

Also, Cheap Shot doesnt always work .When it does fail the animation goes off anyway, that may be the issue you are having.
