![]() I put hawk dive back on my hotbar. Thats right...and its for solo purposes. Awhile back I realized that when I am out doing writs/farming for items and $moolah$ I would occassionally get jumped by a mob before I had a chance to properly set up to fight it. I know lots of people probably use the hawk this way...but I figured I would get it out there so other folks who spend any time solo'ing would know about it as well. When I get surprise attacked, I quickly throw out hawk dive and use the agro dump into stealth CA. Mob attacks hawk, I back off twenty paces, then open fire with my stealthed ranged attack and begin the encounter like I normally do. Results are always nice. I also have been using it when I "accidentally" walk right into the big level 70 ^^^ who doesnt like rangers. Rather than evac'ing, or fleeing only to be stunned and beaten senseless. I throw my hawk at him with an evade for good measure while running for my life. While its not the most useful combat art in the world...it has been serving me pretty well in a limited capacity. And I do like to throw it out in groups every so often to guage its effect.

![]() Hawk dive is a good tool to get adds off you while soloing. Not only does it engage the add you put it on, but it'll aggro all other adds you have not yet engaged. It gives you a little time to make adjustments without a bunch of mobs beating on you. This seems to be the most effective use I've found for this skill so far. Thanks for pointing this out Sai.

I also use Hawk dive solo,to pull. I can run by a mob in stealth, target it,cas hawk dive and keep running another 20 paces or so.By this time the hawk has built a bit of aggro and I can get off 2-3 shots before I get aggro back. The mob then comes to me and the hawk keeps attacking from the rear. Not a lot of damage I know, but it interrupts casting mobs and this is a great help.Buaf 70 Ranger Befallen

I've been using it a lot to control adds lately, even had it hold enough agro that I've been able to get mobs under half health before they agro me which is very nice.
