Bow choice... long or short?

I am a new ranger and was wondering what others have found as the most proficient and effective route to take. Either the extra range and damage of the long bow, with the 7.0 second casting time, or the shorter range and damage of the short bow, but with the 4.5 second casting time?

I really hate doing this... but oh well, here goes... If you would have bothered to look, half way down the first page, theres already a thread title Long or Short (sorta like yours) I'll give ya a 1 guess what its about.....
