definition of a ranger

It seems that some people think the range part of the name ranger means that the only attacks that should matter are ranged attacks and that swords and daggers are not ranger weapons so i have found a dictionary meaning of ranger. remember that stider from lord of the rings was a ranger and he rocked with a sword.

Definitions of ranger:

noun: a member of a military unit trained as shock troops for hit-and-run raids
noun: a member of the Texas state highway patrol; formerly a mounted lawman who maintained order on the frontier
noun: an official who is responsible for managing and protecting an area of forest
name: A surname (rare: 1 in 100000 families; popularity rank in the U.S.: #16036)

1. US military RANGERS...

2. Ranger as in chuck norris

3. a guy that sees to the woods with all that comes with it

4 a surname.... ..... ......

so what did you wanna say with this post

1. that we should have machineguns ?

2. that we should have a few roundkicks and grow a mustache ?

3. that we should be on our lookout for poachers ?

4. that we should all change our names ?

wow. the greatest damage of the scout professions...and have the fastest movement speed in the game...and destroying enemies from afar... I rolled a ranger, but my ranger isn't any of those... I must not be a ranger... what class did I roll?

Hooray for utility! LOL

(PS: Not sure what the point of this is? Yes, we're rangers, yes we can use melee weapons but the bulk of our damage is intended to come from our bows. Right?)

We still do great damage with bows . . . I mean have you ever gotten a paper cut from a Christmas bow man that ribbon hurts bad :smileyvery-happy:

I bet US Army Rangers can solo effectively with a tomahawk and dagger. That doesn't mean they wouldn't rather have a rifle.
