![]() If all goes well (*knocks on wood*), I will complete the Operationg Greenhood qeust either today or tommorow (or day after if need be). But I read that there are two different people you can turn this quest into and each has a different reward. Assuming I can choose the weapon I want, what is everyones reccommendation: Sureshot Bow or Bloodlet Bow? Also...does it matter since I'm level 38?

I went Bloodlet bow. I couldn't tell you the difference right now, but I know that it had better stats and/or damage. Another Ranger in my guild was VERY dissapointed that he got the sureshot bow...

I 'believe' you can equip the Sureshot at a lower level, although by 36 I think you can equip either. I went Sureshot but I bought it early as I didn't complete that quest until I had a cedar bow anyway.

I dunno, as a ranger I would personally never use anything but an imbued bow, preferably rare at this point unless the bow had ungodly stats or damage and/or a proc better than an imbued bows.

![]() You want Bloodlet, sureshot can be put on at around lvl 30 and maxs out at lvl 35-36, bloodlet cant be used until lvl 35-36 and is good till lvl 43. both bows have the same total of stat pts( 24 i think, though spread out slightly different, one has more agi, the other has more str ). As a side note bloodlet will do more damage than a rare cedar bow( excepting the proc of course ) Captain Vulus gives bloodlet and is in a tent not far from the bridge that leads to dfc( the bridge that is near guy who gives the shield hq quest )

Here is my plan on bows for my alt Ranger: level 20-27 Pristine Imbued Fir Long Bow level 28-37 Stormfire level 38-whenever Cedar becomes better then Bloodlet Bloodlet Bow After Cedar's stats make it a better choice I will use that until I can get a fabled. Stormfire should be better then oak bows at least until level 36 or so then Oak or Sureshot would be better but its only a 2 level wait until you can use Bloodlet. Also will have to see if revamp changes around anything. Does this sound like a good plan for the most part?

![]() Pretty much exactly what I did, but without the Stormfire business (I hate camping). At 44, I bought an imbued cedar bow and replaced bloodlet. Bloodlet served me well for a long time. I had purchased a sureshot prior to that, but the bloodlet stats were better.

![]() but now u don't have to camp anymore. I go the stormfire in 20 min. Killed 10 scourced skeletons then nuked Lord Gydak and the bow was mine. They have changed the quest, cause on my first char it took days to get it due to all the quest.

FYI I'm 49 and still using Bloodlet. I am patiently waiting for my cedar long bow, but bloodlet is still good for damage, even on raids...

![]() Jebus, Tex, careful about the info you make public. But man, I wish I'd known you needed cedar - I found one two weeks ago and ended up selling it after I talked to most ppl I knew who might need it. I even thought of you, but went "naaah, of course he has cedar by now, he's 49." Oooops. Well, if I find another, it's yours free of charge. Heck, if I see one on the broker for a reasonable price, I'm getting it for you.

![]() my .2 on bows.... Sell either one of those you get and get yourself a nice piece of oak or cedar...If you want a bow you can use now get oak, if you want one you can use at 40 get cedar... I have used nothing but imbued bows and have never regretted it (especially since it increased my dps a lot). Imbued fir 20-29 Imbued oak 30-39 Imbued cedar 40-49 (I have this one made sitting in bank waiting for me to hit 40)... Imbued is just about better no matter who you ask. That extra damage proc makes a big difference.

LOL, thx Kaeros. I have one on the way, though. Part of a raid loot system we have in our guild... I just hate the waiting...

Part of your raid loot system is making a ranger wait til 49 to get a bow he can use at 42?? I think I'm gonna have to have words with Faylen or Cele over this!!

![]() ROFL, ah, good thing you explained yourself there Faylen. Tex, CONGRATS ON 50!!! Triple woot, my brother. Nice job on the cedar too... finally. BTW (as long as we're cluttering up the ranger forums), we're working on Prismatics now - gotten about everyone thru the initial Vyr'drais raid and most have been down to see Naggy - so if peeps in CM need to work on this, let me know. The four drakotas are each x4 raids, so we'll need to pull some friends together for those battles. It'd be nice to have a relatively consistent x4 raid force that could stick together thru the whole quest(s), but that's probably a bit unrealistic.

I'm not sure if this is an error, but I noticed that since the patch the Bloodlet Bow and Stormfire seem to have the same damage ratings and range now. Seems strange considering that Bloodlet has a 7-level higher requirement than Stormfire. Anyone else notice this?

At the O-Gaming website about the OperationL: Green Hoods quest , somone posted a message that said the Bloodlet bow and the Sureshot bow now had exactly the same stats. Him and his wife did it and took the 2 different bows and they were identical. Not sure if anyone else can confirm this though. I'm almost done with my quest and will probably be going with the Bloodlet bow, unless I hear that the starts are the same. Then I'll get the Sureshot bow.

Thats very dissapointing to here. The Bloodlet was far superior, and harder to get. Now, I need to get this ironwood of mine crafted. I don't think I'll wait for embuing to get in the game

![]() I checked this too last night. The Bloodlet had one better stat like Quillian said, and the damage was better but not by much. I compared them both to my Stormfire and Stormfire had better stats all the way around (+9 Agi) and is usable at level 27 I believe. Damage wise Stormfire and Bloodlet looked equal but I was unable to use the Bloodlet yet so I don't know if the damage changes at level 35 (I am 34). As far as teh Stormfire being able to be equipped at 27, it sure as hell isn't attainable at 27 anymore. It took me a full group of mid-level 30's (36 tank and healer, I was 32) to kill Lord Gydak who is a 29-30ish ^^^ Heroic with many minions. It was a tough finish to the quest let me say. |

![]() It doesn't, Im afraid. I was using the Stormfire, had equipped it when it was first usable (which was around level 26-27 I think. Also had a Bloodlet in the bank which was obtained by a higher level alt, usable by my Ranger at lvl 34 I believe. At the time I put it in the bank the stats on the Bloodlet were WAY better than the Stormfire, as well they should be being usable 7 or 8 levels later on. Finally I hit 34 and I cant wait to use my Bloodlet. I go get it from the bank and examine it. To my shock and dismay, the stats are now exactly the same as the Stormfire stats. Trying to be optomistic, I convince myself that the reason for this is probably that Stormfire has the same stats at the end of its usable level range as the Bloodlet does at the beginning (of it's). Maybe, I think, the Bloodlet damage scales as I level. So off I go with my new bow. Last night I ding 38 and I remember to examine the bow again, to see if it has scaled. It hasn't at all, same damage as when I equipped the thing. I must confess that I honestly don't remember the stats of either bow when I first examined them, so I'm not sure if the Stormfire became better or Bloodlet got nerfed, although my suspicion is that the latter occurred. Still a good bow to be sure, but a bit of a disappointment that it was the same as Stormfire after waiting so long to finally use it!

![]() I started a Ranger and am now up to level 32 with him. I am working on the Operation Greenhood quest and up to the Callon Foundry part of the quest. I was looking over the bow rewards for the quest and from what I saw on ogaming the Bloodlet Bow is supposed to scale as you level. It end with a 82-408 damage output at level 43 according to the screenshot that was posted on ogaming. Is the bow still nerfed as was last stated with the last post in the discussion? If it is, then I will go with the Sureshot bow and not worry about taking that extra little trip to see the Captain for the Bloodlet Bow, if not then I will go ahead and get the Bloodlet Bow. Any information would be helpful and thank you all in advance Lotharian 32nd Season Ranger Mistmoore Server
