I was wondering what our dps is liek stacked against brigands, I was under the impression that rangers and assasin were the best scout dps yet I hear that brigands are better? Is this true?

No. Any Ranger worth his salt will out damage Bards and Rogues any day of the week.

On single mob fights rangers and assassins theoretically should be the best in the game. It comes down to other factors including gear, weapons, and adepts. The biggest factor is how much effort you put into hitting all your skills and timing them right, so you could easily get out DPS by someone that knows how to play their class if you don't.

In all the parsing I have done pound for pound Rangers out DPS Swashies and Brigs hands down. However Brigs get a skill called Ruse that apprently hits for 1k to 2k damage every 60 seconds or so i think? Anyway that is why the "THINK" they our DPS us. This skill does not show up in a parser as damage done by the Brig who used it. But according to the Brig community when you factor in that damage they out DPS us. I have yet to see this proven with data and the numbers crunched to factor in Ruse. But again from all the parsing I have done the system is working as intended Rangers and Assasins way out DPS the other scout classes.

That is correct, also Ruse cannot be parsed becuase it does not count as the Brigands damage, the combat logg will only say "A suprise blow hits XXX for a ton of damage " , This is also why you se very few brigands on the top score list of damage even though hits have been recorded for 2.9k damage
