![]() OK, reading these boards has made me realise my dirge is seriously lacking in a number of departments:
I'm level 26 having solo'd most and only recently joined a Guild. Here is my character profile if anyone has time to take a look. My question is this: given the above, where do I need to look for info. on what armour/weapon/song upgrades to get? I feel I'm just muddling through - fun though it is - and missing out on a load of stuff. Any advice welcome! Message Edited by Tallisman on 04-14-2005 12:35 PM |

Ok you do need to upgrade. If you have money put that into upgrading all you skills to at least App IV. Going to adept I is a mixed bag. ( Unfortunately there is no list for spells and skills you shouldn't upgrade as a Dirge) I myself just shelled out the money and upgraded all the ones I use. You can find them on the fence or broker. On guk the run 1-3g and seem to be cheaper in Qeynos even buying thru the fence(I'm based in Freeport). If you have money after that you put it into equipment. Armor and jewelery are important not so much for mit but for stats. That is why I have some blue stuff on. Tis of course changes if you spend most of your time soloing. Then Mit is really important. If you don't have money or don't want to spend it on equipment, it is time to go questing. First off go grab the Armor Quest armor. It cost nothing and is good stuff. At 26, your should breeze thru those quests. To start them talk to Ian Cathlan in Qeynos Harbor or Dyric Pire in EFP. That will give you everything but a helmet. You can also get a sweet pair of boots by doing the Dwarven Work boots quest. Which is quite fun after you get thru the gathering 100 wood and 100 iron part. It is important not to forget jewelery. Jewelery is a source of a lot of stat and resist boosts. The Augur's quests will net you some nice items and are easy to do. There is an Augur at the docks of both TS and Nek. Also another two in Zek and EL if you have access. Upon finishing they offer you a pick an item. Their list has something for each jewelery slot. I recomend talking the sash for since good waist items seem to be hard to find. Finish all the Far Sea reqs in Nek or TS, and you'll be offered another series of Reqs that net some decent jewelery. If you can get the 3 rings drop in nek, you will get a very nice ring after killing 40 mobs. If you can get a collection of pristine shards together, the reward is a nice bracelet. If you have the patience to do the Greater Light Stone quest, that is an excellant neck item. Though at 26 it might be better to do GBS. Nightfall Shamans in Nek normally drop a good bracelet. Weapons: Personally I prefered the Dragoon daggers over the Willowblade. (you can pick those up off of killing elite guards in nek) But by mid-20's I had outgrown them. I was using a Steel Rapier and Deathbringer before I picked up my Sweet dirk off of Ladon. But, picking up the dirk is not easy I was the first person to discover it on Guk. So, here are a few easier ways you can pick up weapons. In the commonlands, Gustfeather sometimes drops a sweet stilleto (Deathbringer's stilleto) The named slime in edgewater also drops a nice stiletto(can't remember the name atm). If you have the patience, do "An Axe from the Past" Which you start by learning Giant and talking to Obsid BoulderBoom in TS. Now, you can quickly net a nice axe by doing "Help a Troll get Ahead." The key to it is having a trustworthy party. Start it by talking to Kegnock Legbreaker. He's a troll who wanders around by the nek gate in the commonlands. He wants the head of a nightfall Shaman which should net you a nice bracelet too. Then, when you come back, he attacks you. After defeating him, (he's level 30 btw which is why you need a group) he drops a chest with a sweet axe. Hopefully your group is good and gives you the axe since you talked to him. If you're smart only one person will talk to him at a time and you'll wait for him to respawn between each person and you'll all get an axe. There are more that I can't think of atm. Also, I'm based in Freeport so I'm probably missing some stuff in Antonica or TS. I'm sure someone based Qeynos knows some quests from that side.

![]() Woohoo! Well, I went an upgraded as much as I could afford (offline selling really helped there!) including armour, weapons and spells. What a difference! My highest magic hit has rocketed to 492... this is what I have on now: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/player.vm?characterId=147640110 A question though, I seem to be doing over the max damage descibed in one of my songs - I can't remember it's full name but the description at Adept 1 says max 395. So how come I did 492 with it??? |

![]() damage on lanets is either listed wrong when you examine it, or is very variable regarding resists and mental resist debuffs. As it seems to often do more than the damage listed on it, but not something to complain about p
