I've been wanting to roll a Rogue, but I have one question over which one to pick. Which rogue can solo better? I mean, which one has the better capacity to do quests/get exp while I"m LFG?I was thinking maybe brigand because of all the stuns, but I don't really know. Also, for either class, what would be the best profession to make money/outfit myself? Thanks for all the help!

Well as someone who just  came over to the dark side i can tell  its very situational. i just took my 57 swash and did the  betrayal and  tbh there isnt alot of difference in the long run  that i see yet( now 59).

I would have to say its very dependant on the mob/mobs an what u mean by gettin quests done.

Hands down so far i have to give the brig class the edge on single target ^ mobs( and quite poss   low ^^ green nameds and such). But, the flip side of that coin is the huge loss of solo ae damage and  the minor crowd control with the  swash mezz. So where as a swash i could chew through  dwn arrow  solo  mulit mob encounters and often take antoher  multi solo add on top of it, it just aitn happening with the brig thing ( although im still learning a bit ) i seem to die alot more  when i take an add as a brig /shrug

It really comes down to picking your fights with your head and not just charge in. I will say since social aggro change that i miss my mezz, hurricane and that nifty ae stun/kockback alot( seriously alot =/) however im quite happy as a brig now and  just have to pick the fights that work on current strong suits.

So  its really more of a flavor thing as i see it... Do you like fighting  single target mobs or just  bum rush  a pack of  xp fodder?

Also as  brigs are by far more  backstab positional than swashies (alot more not just a lil)   AS in the swash is by far more comfortable fightin  toe toe with no stuns at the rdy while as a brig with out stuns to  get around behind a mob i feel  hamstrung.

Again close; best bet is  read up on the spell lines, see what city u rather live in  and which clas hat u like better  and go from there .. they are both kick [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] classes and alot of fun either way

As a 44 Brigand, I can solo blues, whites, and some yellows. I can also regularly kill most old green ^^^ named. Then again, I'm not as proficient at killing named as many classes, but it can be done.

FYI, I'm in full ebon chain, with full mastercrafted equipment and full adept 3's. I'll avoid fabled/masters for at least 10 more levels. as I level fast, they aren't worth the cost IMHO.

I will agree that while soloing, the bigger the group, the more trouble I tend to have. 1-on-1 brigs are deadly, though.

How can you afford all that? Is it really cheap, do you have a main or are you really good at making money?

Well I have 9 50+ crafters. So I just need the ebon cluster. Still, any decent guild should have an armorer that will make a guild friend something for nothing, or next to nothing. Crafting is now insanely easy. As for the cluster, ebon (and ore/loams) in general are not easy to come by, but they aren't impossible to find either. Of course, I have the advantage of having a 70 Defiler that can roam every teir but 7, and not get agro from roaming mobs. He is my harvester, and with luck, you should be able to average an ebon cluster every 90 mins or so. Of course, it will seem much longer.

My perspective as a 33 brigand is that we solo single mobs fairly well.  In above average gear I can drop solos up to yellow fairly quickly.  I have trouble with green ^^^ unless theyre very green to me.  Compared with my higher lvl characters I'd say I solo single mobs faster than my zerker.  My warden (67) solos as fast and alot safer though, imo.  My coercer (3SMILEY will solo slower but higher lvl stuff, it just takes forever with their CC and low dps.  As far as what the previous guy said about group encouters, my brigand has ONE aoe that hits weak and so it's a real pita to do groups as you just kill one at a time and it becomes a race between how fast you can put out dmg vs. how fast they drop your health.  I know swashbucklers get more aoe abilities although I've never played one.   They both seem like fun classes to me so I'd just choose whatever appeals to you more or base it on what city you prefer.

Something of note, I went to the solo arena yesterday, easy difficulty, and absolutely slapped around the arena champion. With all my characters, I've never defeated him so quickly and easily.( it took my Necro 2 tries, SK 3 tries, and I had to actually use the L&L exploit to beat him with my Defiler on try 4) It was embarassing for him. That said, it has been 6 months since I fought him last. So if they nerfed the difficulty, my arrogance is obviously unwarranted.

"Brigands can solo white-con triple-ups at level 50+."

Having a 56 brig with all adept3/master spells I am going to have to call bs on that statement!

2 Stackable seperate timer snares, combined with a ranged stun. Takes forever, but very possible.

Yea, kinda of like my old Toub friend who would claim to be able to solo almost any melee critter with enough space. I asked kim to kill an orange ^^^ ice thing (forgot the name) in EF, and he said he would do it. Well, after about 15 mins he was at half health, slowlt regenerating, and the critter was still in the yellow. I mercifully called it off and told him I believed him. i didn't want to be there all day.

Actually neither can solo at all.  Not one bit.  Go Monk or Bruiser ftw!

I can solo mob con named with ease.  White and yellow 3^'s are pretty easy also.  Granted grear gives anyone the ability to do above and beyond what others can.
