Lets say I'm fighting someone and I hit them with a debuff & damage, e.g. the gouge line, and they proceed to zone out with the debuff on them and run away. I follow them but zone slower than they do.  By the time I appear, they're long gone, but I get a message, such as  " Your gouge hits Unknown for 130 damage." (I got this message, with their name in place of the "unknown" when I actually hit them with gouge) and I'm instantly thrown back into combat, even though I haven't actually done anything since I zoned.  Then, I zone back out to go back where I came from and I get a no zone timer.  What gives? Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just going crazy?

This same bug can work to your advantage at times in PvP.If you immediately chase someone who flees (honorably or dishonorably) and have debuffs or DoTs on them, you will continue autoattacking them during the zone transition. With a few good poison procs I've seen it instantly kill people who fled at 30% health. When this happens against dishonorably fleeing targets you get status and infamy. Against honorably fleeing opponents who are supposed to be invulnerable in the next zone, it says they died from pain and suffering and you get no credit, but it's still hilarious.
