I have a Monk alt I started playing for a while and was grouped with a swash (among others). While running around Commonlands (on PvP server) he always knew when someone was near (tracking obviously) but what suprised me was he also always seemed to know WHERE people were. He would shout out instructions to tell us which direction to head to find the Freep(s). I have a Swash I recently pulled out of semi-retirement and I thought tracking only told you when someone was close. Am I missing a big part of tracking?

If you open up the tracking window, it will tell you what is relatively near. Now, if you select a name and press OK, it'll act as a way point. You'll see the glowing rope and if you bring up your map, you'll see an X on it where they were. I'm not sure if it actually continues to follow them as they move though. I only use it for mobs on a PvE server.

Actually, it will keep following until they leave the zone, pretty much. Doesn't matter how far away they are...the X on the map and the trail will show. On a very rare occassion, you will get "you have lost the tracks of x," and that's that. |
