Hey guys, glad to be back on the new boards!I've decided I definately want to create a Swashbuckler and that he should be an Elf, but I'm having trouble deciding what kind. Half-Elf was my first thought, but upon reading the Scout's Sanctuary ability list Swashies get an Illusion:Half Elf, so I'm not sure if this is worth it. High and Wood Elves seem like they'd be decent Swashbucklers, but I havn't put too much thought into those paths. Dark Elves are definately a more difficult path with the betrayal and all, but I'm up for the challenge. Could someone give me sort of an overview on the plusses and minuses of each Elven variety? Thanks.

Wood Elf traditions perfectly complement the scout classes.

What of the other elves would you have gone instead? Also, why would you not like to do it again? Difficulty?

I am not sure on high elves. They have very low starting strength and stamina. Their agility is not so impressive either. But then again everyone says stats are not so important because there are lots of gear out there to fix this.

![]() I'm enjoying the heck out of my Kerra Swashie...nice agi, str, and stam. But as far as a half-elf disguise....I heard it was a dark-elf disguise..... I'm wondering if its different depending upon your race?

Yea, I also enjoy my Kerran swashy. Good stats overall and I like the Kerrans. I played a Woodelf in beta but, the Kerran had better str and stamina and 27 agility, even though the web site listed it at 23. So for better str and sta and only 3 less agil., he turned out pretty nice.

Interesting. I hadn't even seriously thought of a Kerran. Ah well, so far I've chosen to give Half-Elf a try, simply because I love one of their hairstyles and managed to create a very "swashbuckily" looking Half-Elf. Guess I'll see what happens. Thanks for your imput!

![]() Because I am a worry wart I tend to go with the race that excels in the starting stat. Since Wood Elfs have the highest AGI I went that route. Now don't get me wrong, this was just a personal decision and I also love the Wood Elf look but I personally feel that any race can be any class as long as you quest for armor that raise specific stats, u will be fine. |

Yea, I played Woodelf in beta but wanted something different.in EQ2, in the end, I don't think it really matter a lot, as long as you don't do something radical like Dwarf, Ogre, Erudite or Troll scout. They have really bad agility and a good agility helps keep you from getting hit as much.

It was my choice and I'm really happy with it.
