Ok its not really a new face but every so often when you visit the Peacock Club Tavern instead of Marshell Ralem Christof being at a table in the second room, you will have the chance to speak with a dwarf who seems to have been credited legendary status. He likes to tell tales of his adventures, and crusades it seems. Seems he has bad news though, especially for dwarves. It appears Kaladim has not survived the shattering as this dwarf in particular states that he has visited Kaladim and the city is in ruin. This is the majority of what he has told me so far.
You say to Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea, "What are you doing here?"Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea says to you, "I am here to rest from my crusade to rid this world of the taint of undeath. After the Age of Cataclysms many lives have past into the ranks of undead. Norrath will not be overrun while Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea is on watch!"
You say to Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea, "What is the Black Sun Sea?"Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea says to you, "It rests deep within the bowels of Norrath, a watery abyss hiding in the darkness. I had spent many years there lost on my crusade to locate the sacred Vaults of Serilis. I found no vault, but earned my name by cleansing the Black Sun Sea of the villains that lurked there. "You say to Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea, "What villians lurk in the heart of Norrath?"Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea says to you, "The stench of death often seeps into the Underfoot. That is what I fight. But there are others that have proven to be a threat to my crusades as well."You say to Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea, "What others?"Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea says to you, "Goblins, rats hordes and bear beasts abound! They have organized and have begun their deadly march. My crusade led me through their ranks. I lost some good mates cutting a swathe to reach Kaladim.
You say to Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea, "Are you from Kaladim?"

Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea says to you, "Do not speak the name of the glorious city of Kaladim! To do so would cause me to tear up and begin an endless round of grog. What has befallen the city of my kind is truly sad... sad indeed."You say to Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea, "So you have seen Kaladim?"Zazoo of the Black Sun Sea says to you, "Aye! I have seen Kaladim in this age. My hunt brought me to those halls. I chased the Hounds of Ethernere up from the depths of Norrath only to find the city in ruin."

Is this dwarf telling a little bit more than before? I have never heard anyone directly mention this piece of lore about Kaladim being left in ruin, and a truly "sad" fate?.

He has been there for a long time actually... What I find more interesting is that the access NPC in front of MG for the crazed Dwaf/Nightblood event is a member of the free thinkers.  He has the faction banner and everything I think he is the first NPC in the world that I have seen with it now that I think about it.

So he has been mentioning Kaladim being left in ruin? I must be late on the news. :smileytongue:

Yeah he's always been there.

Fippy Darkpaw the 4th also shows up in place of either of those two as well. The League of Freethinkers has dealing with the Circle of the Unseen Hand.

Unseen hand is probably doing alot of messy quiet work for them as they weave their web.

Well he seems to be talking about some new things, thats for sure. Sounds like Zazoo has definately been busy with his crusades. I would like to go down into the Black Sun Sea and explore.

So you found Pup. He's sort of a trained guardian. He has been there since the Freethinkers set up shop in the Peacock Club. Someday, everyone might be able to meet Pup.

I whipped out my X-ray camera and got a few candid shots of our little Pup when it(?) wasn't expecting:Pup, in the nude, sun-bathing!Or at least, it sounds so much more scandelous with that link name.
(I didn't make the image in-line, in case people want to wait until it is really accessible to see it.)Edit: And no, it doesn't seem to respond to hails.

What exploit? The ability to track and find an NPC behind a locked door who doesn't respond to hails?

I believe he's referring to the ability to pass through solid (locked) doors to grab a "picture" of a NPC who doesn't respond to hails.

Actually from the picture it looks like he's standing outside the door and merely moved the camera around until the door vanished, it's a common glitch in the graphics and there's nothing "exploit" about it, unlike the lag through doors exploit which I think you were suggesting. As to what type of creature Pup is, he uses the same model that the Iron Sentinals from Obelisk and the Flying Guillotines from Palace of the Awakened do, although normally you shouldn't be able to see Pup so it could simply be a placeholder graphic of some sort. I'd be very interested to find out if he is from the Obelisk of Lost Souls however, would be nice to have some more lore from that area revealed  SMILEY

Depending on latency, and hardware (don't know which one affects it the most) objects like mailboxes, tradeskill instance entrances and the like will often appear very slowly in the gameworld for me. Seeing as I'm quite used to 'camping' these things, I've found that before they appear, I can position myself exactly where they will be (I'll be moved on top of them once they appear). Might be possible to do this with doors too, though I have no idea how it works really. I'm just really tired of having to stand around /tap'ing for 30 seconds to check my mail SMILEY

It's a Contraption.

You can find them in Palace of the Awakened, Nektulos Castle, Meeting of the Minds, and Obelisk of Lost Souls, among other places.

Is the social non quest version of Christoph a regular in the peacock club or is he a new addition?

They've always been there. Marshal Cristoph, Zazo of the Black Sea Sun, and Fippy Darkpaw IV have always been found in the Peacock Club ever since the quest line went live with Desert of Flames. You just gotta zone in a few times to cycle through them.
