![]() Hello fellow Defilers I'm a level 28.5 defiler, and having alot of fun with the class, but as I'm starting to get more varied spells (I just got profane accretion last night), I'm finding it more and more cumbersome to figure out how I should organize my hotbars. I currently have 4 hotbars, with most of the heals/wards on the primary, debuffs/dots on the 2ndary, and various other things on 3rd and 4th. I prefer to use only primary and secondary bars in battle, the control key is hard to reach, for me anyway. Anyway, its not so bad, but I'm just wondering if any of you have found ways to arrange your hotbars that you find really easy or smooth. Perhaps this should be posted in the UI section? Sorry if I'm in the wrong forum. Thanks for any input :smileyhappy: Ghrim 28 Dark Elf Defiler

![]() I have: Bottom left, always visible, primary hotbar: DMG spells, Single Target Wards and Heals Bottom right, always visibly, secondary hotbar: Group Wards and heals, and emergency spells (the two hate reducers, insta cast ward, sprint, yell for help, combat res) Middle left (horizontal), auto-hide: Debuffs Middle right (horizontal), auto-hide: Master smites and cures (trauma, elemental, noxious) Top left (veritcal), auto-hide: Utility spells (COO, summon food, out of combat res, etc.) Top right (vertical), auto-hide: Buffs

Hey I like that idea of having some autohide! I didn't even think of that. I have 4 bars atm, each 1 row and all at the bottom of my screen. The upper left is bar 1 with my heals/wards. Bar 2 is lower left with attack and debuffs. Bar 3 is upper right and has buffs + random utility stuff, bar 4 is lower right and has cure ailment spells. I kepe my tradeskills on different sets and cycle through on bar 1 depending on my task (although it's always alchemy). I also have some lesser used stuff, like call of the overlord that I pretty much cycle on bar #4. I think when I get home from work I will put my buffs on an auto hide bar and stick that somewhere, maybe on the side or top, then I can spread everything else out a bit.

as a 34 defiler this setup seems to work for me as i have all my spells and combat thigs at the top and all my group stats over on the left where there visable (sort of like where the group list was in default in SWG)and just bellow the group options i have the new window that shows what the person u have targeted see's and what there health is then i have the chat, group and guild chat and 2 combat windows down the bottom out of the way and a big space in the middle so i can see whats going on

![]() i have 6 bars and really there is no order to it, infact if anyone saw or tried to use how i had it laid out i think they would call me nuts. but its what i have gotten used to i know where all the spells are, what key shortcuts are and if i changed that now i would be in so much trouble

![]() I am using the Belkin Nostromo N52 Speedpad (check it out, it rocks). It has 16 programable keys and a directional pad for movement, and 4 different banks for a total of 64 programable keys. You can do small macros with it or program a key for multiple commands like alt+1 or ctl+1 for different bars. Its also has a programable mouse wheel for camera view or even switching through the different banks or hotkey banks. Personally I havn't used it to its full potential but sure has helped slow the carple tunnel, now just need to do somethin to stop the vision loss ![]() lvl 25 setup, Main hotbar: Wards x 2, Heals x 3, Debuff x 2, HO, DoT x 3, Greywind 2nd hotbar: sonic vision, call o' overlord, SoW, rat form, wraith form, and group buffs 3rd hotbar: status cures, summon food, group heal, group ward, fear, sprint, and other utilities Hope it helps, Blixx Link to the N52 Speedpad, hope its ok to post this. ![]() I also have four hotbars open. The first hotbar autohides and is for out-of-combat buffs and utilities. The remaining three are vertical, side-by-side on the left side of my screen. I've arranged the spells so that spells of a similar type are activated with the same number. For instance, Healing Ritual is 1, Minor Arch Healing is Alt-1, and Totemic Aid is Ctrl-1. Similarly, all of my debuffs are on 2, DoTs on 7, Hate Reducers on 9, etc. Seems to work well. At the very least, I've got pretty good access to everything and makes some sense.

![]() Wow seems im in the minority with my 3 little bars hehe. I only ever use one bar 95% of the time, and I just do that by 1 2 3 4 5 etc. I have my keys setup for how my hands lay on the keys. Most natural for me, Here is my exact main bar: 1 sprint 2 debuff str/int etc 3 ward 4 slow 5 main heal 6 nuke 7 second heal 8 dot 9 dot 10 forget what it is hehe - HO = ae dot Then I just lay my hands on the keyboard, pull mob, I hit 4 2 3 8 9 5 rinse and repeat, oh a lot of = thrown in there too hehe. Depends on if multi mobs or 2up. Then I keep my buffs on different pages as you dont ever cast them but once so why keep them visible? On my second bar I keep one offs like shield spells etc. Some of my creature nukes like orc smite etc. probably not for everyone but it works well for me as we tend to get into a flow and whatever you can do without thinking the fastest is what helps in combat. |

I have 3 main bars, 1 buff bar. I centre things so the most important things are accesible with either 1-7 or combinations of 1-6 and ctrl or alt. Mostly heals plus a nuke at top, debuffs/dots second and some cures at third (although I admit I don't use them loads). Anything else I tend to click instead of using numbers because 8 to = are all too far away to be easily accessible without moving my fingers (I dont use numpad, I use the keys above wasd)I am running out of room a bit though :oI think I will try a hidden bar maybe like others suggest.

I have 3 computers in my room and often have 3-5 people sittin around playin watchin TV, drinking and just hanging out. This situation often leads to me goin afk and having someone else take over for a bit.Defilers are definatly NOT straight forward healers, it isn't just "heal him when he gets low" kinda deal. SO I have my keys setup in the order I'd cast them during an average fight. (by the way I'm a 35 defiler)1) healing ritual (fast cast heal)2) sacrificial aid (BIG heal)3) first ward (don't remember the name cause i have them macro'd and my hotkey only says "first ward")4) 2nd ward5) slow (the trait upgraded one slow + mana drain)6) Fuliginous Sphere (slow + dot)7-9) vary based on if i'm going DPS+backup heal, or main heal, but mostly combinations of dots + debuffsWhile I do my beer run or whatever takes me afk, I tell whoever takes over to simply start at 3 + 4 before fight starts, have tank pull, cast each spell in order till the end of the fight and and use 1 + 2 to heal as needed. 90% of the time my group never knows the difference! On occasion when I'm main healer and I put someone on who doesn't play eq, I'll even work the heals into the spell line up where I think the tank will be taking the damage! (ward, ward, slow, slow+dot, heal, dot, debuff, heal, heal)With the exception of a bad pull or other group [Removed for Content] I've never had even a non-eq player loose a party member.

![]() My tool bar is set up similar to cytomel's. I got 3 bars for combat and 1 bar for buffs/rez/misc marcos My bars look like this: 4 = lt. heal, Alt-4 = medium heal, Ctrl-4 = strong heal 5 = ward, Alt-5 = group ward, Ctrl-5 = instant ward 6 = smite, Alt-6 = skelton smite, Ctrl-6 = Ghost smite 7 = DoT, Alt-7 = strong Debuff, Ctrl-7 = medium Debuff 8 = remove Poison, Alt-8 = rem. group P, Ctrl-8 = rem. Elem I am only in my low 20's and my hotbars are nearly full so I will probably be adding another hotbar soon. |

![]() Although I hail from the warm and fuzzy side of Norrath, I thought this was a neat thread so I will share my hotbar setup. At level 39 I have 3 hotbars and couldn't imagine having anymore than that. My 3 hotbars are set up in the black widescreen margin at the bottom of my screen side by side with 5 rows across 2 rows tall sizing. My first hotbar is attack, debuffs, offensive spells (dot's nukes), my 2nd bar is all of my wards, heals, and cures, and my third bar is all of my buffs and utility spells. i'll post a screenshot in a second once i get one uploaded. Edit- Got a Screenie ![]() Message Edited by Muad`Dib on 02-10-2005 11:26 AM
