A fellow guildie, a Fury, obtained a rare to make his level 52 spell tonight, after passing the rare on another guildie made it, it was Back into the Fray. I was shocked and dismayed at the level of healing he can now provide,when my 52 is a near-useless 'upon death' spell that just doesn't do enough to cause more than a second set of debt for the person in question... I ended up turning main heal position over to him, which of course wasn't what he wanted. The furies in my guild WANTED to be backup heals with better dps than the usual druid...Of course they have their invis as well. But when they picked fury, they didn't pick it to heal (we have several furies...now I know some furies perhaps DID pick it to heal, but overall, balance would indicate more healing = less dps and vice versa) they picked it for dps/backup healing/utility. Rather like the druids in EQ1. In any case I couldn't see me causing death to my friends because I can't handle the heals, and my fury friend is mid-dmg cast when the poor tank (or wizard) needs him most. It didn't bother me(well not too much anyway lol) when I saw they could heal equally, yet have more DPS...I can live with equal and chalk things up to being my stupidity in choosing a warden. We all make mistakes, after all...especially me! *g* It bothers me that now I'm not a good healer, I'm not good dps, I'm not good..anything...what am I good for? I'm useless. I'm crap healer, I'm crap dps, and since there's a troubadour, assassin, and wizard in our regular group, I'm also crap evac. I spend fights jamming keys to keep a tank standing (Most the time...) while the fury I was main healing over can cast his 1200 heal, the occasional hot, and throw in some damage too... In contemplating with my troubie friend what I WAS good for now, buff bot was mentioned...yay I have better buffs.../sigh I cast them once and they stick til the group breaks up...should I then go on autofollow and read a book? Or perhaps my overabundance of power, since I"m not the heal choice and can't even begin casting enough dmg to use it up in a normal fight...perhaps they'll give me a spell where I can pass my power on to others, then I can be a twitch B**** here like necros in EQ1... I don't see a role for me any more. Well in the discussion with my friendly guildie fury, he wanted to compare spells, he stated he believed I still healed better (I don't believe he reads the warden forums...) well, I myself have stayed away from them, I wanted to form my own opinion...well I've formed my opinion, and now it's time to find out if I should be retiring my warden. (Rather sad, that, as I've been the healer Yirabeth in all games I've played, and now I've lost the name on a WARDEN....) So what I need to know..is there ANY spell, even though later (which is in itself unbalancing) that compares to Back into the Fray? If so, what level? Also, is there a place where I can check out the 'official' stats on all the warden spells? fury also, if you know of a site... although if not I'll task him to find the fury side...*g* Thanks in advance for any help you can give me in this matter. ~Yira

Sorry, but no we don't get a heal that compares to fury's lvl 52 heal.

What we get is that stupid death triggered thingy.

fair? nope

balanced? nope

should we hate and despise furies? nope

Should we look at the devs in awe wondering what the heck they were /are thinking? YES

LOL, the only thing you can really say about the death trigger of last resort is if there were any healing class that needed a get out of death chance its the Warden now.

Its to bad your spamming heals as fast as you can, and the last thing you think of is firing off a 36 second spell with a percent chance to get out of death. Its like, hmm should i continue to try to heal as fast as I can, or should i throw in the towel, let him die and use my emergency get of death ability? OPPS I fizzled, to late.

Maybe SOE knew what they were doing when they gave us that spell. Wardens dont need better heals, Just give them a chance at a free pass when the tanks dies.
