Searched for master 2 and did not find anything regarding this topic that I would have thought would have been gone over many times by now. Out of the the four final master 2 choices, blighted pack (swarm pet) and voice of the departed (offensive stance) seem to be undoubtedly the better two spells of the four. I am about 75% though level 53 and was anticipating on getting the blighted pack master 2, although I have been reading on the conjuror boards (yes I know their offensive stances differ) that the offensive stance is the better choice over the swarm pet. I enjoy dueling a lot and being able to solo heroics..... Does anyone have any opinions on their upcomming master 2 choice or thoughts on what they themselves chose?

Personally i choose the Offensive stance, since the haste (51%) applies to the charmed pet to. To that add that the price of rares are silly low now, getting a ADIII of the dogs dont hurt that much anymore.

I took the master 2 int/sta buff..  while int is easy to get. the 69 sta is [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] nice. and its group wide. nice for raids

I'm all about the offense stance myself. Swarm pets tend to die quicker than regular pets, and buffs can be dispelled, but an offense stance is something you will always have up on your pet at all times. And yes, it does work on your charm pets too.

Personally, I chose the group buff.  As was stated before, the int is nothing too amazing since a decently-equipped necro can get over 350 int self buffed, but the int and sta going to everyone is great for procs, other casters, and general HP of the group.  However, since I just found the master 1 of it and bought it, I will /respec and get the dogs.  I have the master offensive stance, too, but something to keep in mind is that any offensive stances after Agitation do NOT buff your scout and tank pets' abilities.  Instead, they buff mage abilities (subjugation, disruption, and focus), and offer haste which is the only benefit to the melee types.  However, that haste only affects auto-attack and not specials, nor does it help the pet hit the mob any more than it would be able to otherwise.  Therefore, unless you're one of the three necs gamewide that actually use the warlock pet with any frequency (outside of PP: Return), then I would recommend choosing one of the other spells.

I choose the doggies.  I tend to solo a lot, and that means a fair amount of time I have the zombie out with defensive stance.  In those situations, I benefit much more from having upgraded doggies.

For grouping, it's hard to say.  I would want to see a detailed parse of the adept3 dogggies vs the master 2 doggies.  To see if the 8 or 9 percent haste difference is worth it.

But I've also kept in mind that I have at least one respec left to use.   So I know that if the situation changes when Im level 60, I will be able to change my master 2 choice (though since I will get adept 3 offense stance, it will be sort of a waste to switch)

Abaz, dont the offensive stances offer a proc buff to the melee pet?  But you are correct that the melee pets stats are not upgraded in a useful way. (ie: no str buff)

Haste and increased damage on the lifetap proc (with your proc hitting around 10% more often than adept 3 due to haste) absolutely do buff the melee pets.  The offensive buff only increases the melee pets abilities, it does nothing statistically significant for the warlock pet (see some of my previous threads on pet buffing).

That said, I believe the offensive buff or the blighted pack are probably the best to go with, depending on your other adept 3's.  Fury isn't horrible but the upgrade is a little too slight from ad1 to m2.

Offensive stance.  To me it's a no-brainer.  Huge boost to our DPS.

And as has been stated, the stance affects charmed pets as well, which is really nice!

At 54, I took siphon life.  It's really our only quick damage spell and I use it alot on quick dropping mobs.

I took Siphon Life. Your more likely to get master I's of the buffs (I know I was) then you will the master for your lifetap.

El Chups said, "I believe the offensive buff or the blighted pack are probably the best to go with, depending on your other adept 3's."   Yes. With Blighted Pack at adept III the offensive buff was an easy call. Unless I am pushing my solo envelope (pretty rare atm), the offensive buff is always up. Very pleased with this choice.

i have master of rats and offensive stance so i went with siphon life cause the extra int/sta isn't nearly as good as the extra damage and heal on siphon life.

only one problem with the off buff being master 2 trying going all out in a raid and your a dead necro even now when i raid i dont send in my pet right away i have to wait and i still risking pullling the epic off the tank and from 20 other people. yes nice and high dps is good but too high and we just drop dead, you cant fd fast enough.  plus if ya do the mob tends to go back straight to the tank but half the time in the wrong angle and you just killed half your raid force.

Long term, this is the right answer imo.  I have seen multiple versions of all three other masters on the broker, but I have never seen a siphon life master.

Assuming a master 1 is very close to a master 2 in power, I would go with the siphon life training option and then plan on picking up the other three masters.

If you have a respec, you could go with the offensive buff or dogs and then respec to siphon life after you pick up those two masters (this is what I did)

I took the dogs as I have Siphon at Master I.   If I come across Blighted Pack Master I, I may respec and take the offensive.  However, not terribly concerned about it as my dps is already excellent and pet tends to die quickly in raid anyway.  I rarely do anything except raid.

I choosed the pet haste buff but later on I /resp and switched it for the lifetab cause the buff was like same thign as the master 1, same proc nuke and pet heal but only +3pct more haste.

Soloing with max int the lifetab can hit for near 1200 and on raids with some buffs I saw nukes up to near 1700+ the lich proc.

Anyways I could recommend the dogs master II cause many raid mobs and stuff we will fight uses a lot AOE dps and dogs and stench pets dont get hit by aoe and if a mob is immune to diease the swarm pets will stil do their dps )Preaty uber.

But again the lifetab master 2 rules and the next expansion if we dont get new dogs I wil l/resp once again to get lv 54 trainning skill= dogs then cause the new lifetab will probably come at lv possible bettewn 62 to 64.
