was wondering..I'm playing a wizard..and a conjuror....and though I can CLEARLY pull faster and fight tougher things with my conjuror..it seems they both level at about the same rate... are Conj Pets eating XP? ..perhaps.. I been drinking to much...

Not sure how it works these days - but it used to be that if you let the pet do all the work and you didnt damage the mob at all you'd get 50% of the usual xp?..... So as long as you cast a spell/dmg the mob (even just once) you should get the normal amount of xp.. Like I said this was a while ago so not sure if its still the case.

For a short time they did make it so that the caster would have to do at least 1pt of damage in order to receive full experience as an attempt to eliminate afk exp'ing.  This was reverted because it simply didn't acheive the desired results for a couple of reasons.  First, simply using a damage shield would still allow for afk exp'ing, and second because weak mobs would die before it would be possible for the caster to actually do any damage.

Currently, pets do not take any amount of experience regardless of how much damage is done by the caster. :smileyhappy:

as  far as this subject goes im not so sure if u get 100% even after reading all the posts, i only say this b/c i have tested out a pvp bug and on several occasions if my pet did 100% the work, no buffs from me i got np xp, no fame, no faction, no status from killing a fp, but when i would do 1dmg i would get it all, tests were done every 30 min, so just looking at my results from that it made me wonder about xp, and though i get the message that i got xp, im not sure if i get all of it, im a do some testing when i can devlope a 100% way of mesuring xp, and thus far the only mesuare of xp is threw station exchane where it shows how much xp u have not ur %, since i dont wanna risk loosin a toon i need another way

As far as i know the pets right now dont eat exp (did once if you did nothing but they took it out).

What your seeing is the fact that despite how fast you think you can pull mobs and kill them... both wizards  and warlocks will be able to plow through the more solo oriented mobs at a much faster rate than you can hope to.  On the other hand you can take on more tougher mobs..

Just remember  that wizards and warlocks are faster but riskier (they are paste if the root fails) but conjurors and necromancers are slower but safer.

That and Conjurors will annihilate a group of mobs a lot easier than a wizzie/warlock can even hope to.  I rarely fight 1v1 on my conjuror as it's a waste of my time. Try to find zones and area's that have multipe mob encounters and spend your time xp'ing their and you'll find yourself leveling a lot faster.  I can kill a group of 7 mobs in the time it takes the wizzy I duo with to kill 2 mobs  SMILEY. Just learn as to what you and your pet can handle and do group encounters when possible and you'll see a significant increase in your XP that way.

I still want to know just what mobs exist that both give exp, and can be killed by your pet before you can get off a spell. Because even my mage pet, at adept 3, attacking mobs that turned grey to me 3 levels ago, STILL cant manage to kill mobs before I get at least one aoe spell off, thus damaging the entire encounter.

Cast Blazing Presence or Blazing Avatar on your Scout pet, and sic 'em on a 1-down-arrow mob thats blue-con or green-con. I guarantee you, it will die rediculously fast, and you won't have dealt a single damage point yourself.Or, for giggles, kill a mob with only your swarm pets and your main pet. Again, you won't have dealt a single damage point yourself.

Blazing Presence/Avatar, Elemental Vestment, both swarm pets (Flameshield and Ember Seed when placed on pet too) are all zero conjuror damage.

For a Conjuror not to draw aggro, theses are all spells I usually cast at onset of battle. There goes over 10 seconds of battle... How many mobs are already dead? If I slipped in a Shattered or a Seism or a Deluge, what are the odds I drew aggro?

In some contexts, doing an AoE just for the sake of damaging each mob is utterly stupid and uselessly risky.
