Level 48 Palladin here. I was in Runnyeye a couple of days ago (after the combat revamp) with a L39-ish Conjurer and had a heck of a time holding and regaining aggro. It seemed that the conjurer's pet automatically targetted the most dangerous mob (i.e the one heroic^^^ in a group of heroic ^'s) regardless of whether or not the conjurer had me targeted. Assuming I had made the same decision about which mob to target at the onset of battle, it was very difficult to keep aggro. Once the pet had stolen it, it was dang near impossible to get it back. The end result was the pet would die and the aggro would transfer to the conjurer, who followed his beloved pet into the afterlife. It was marginally easier if it was not a group mob, but even then about 1/3 of the time the pet would steal aggro from me. Basically, if the pet was in the battle, I couldn't cast anything but taunts, and heals with an occasional buff or stun. Using a melee special would risk losing aggro. Have any other Conjurers notices this as well? I haven't had trouble holding aggro with any other class. I've grouped with wizards and assassins two to four levels above me and they've walked away from battles with groups of heroic^^^'s unscathed.

When grouped with my guild the tank (also a Paladin) casts his buff which transfers a portion of hate gained by a player to himself, on my pet. This setup seems to work well as he doesn't normally have any issues holding aggro. This is also with me using Aery Stalker (Adept III) with Vexation (Adept III).

![]() Most likely it was splash damage that was causing him to switch to the big heroic . Next time you talk to that conjuror tell him to send any pet at them from the back or the sides. Also have him use the air pet or fire pet (if he uses the fire pet he must some how get behind the mob as it will be very diastrous as its broken to get into melee range) the air pet would be ideal as it isn't quite as effective at drawing argo and taunting as the earth pet and will most likely give u guys an extra umph to take out the mobs faster

If he was using the earth pet it's near impossible to take aggro from it post CU. It has a super-taunt now. Great for soloing but definitely not for group situations. If offtanking with the pet is needed then the Aery pet in defensive stance is the way to go. Otherwise air or fire pet in offensive stance is best for groups.

![]() I let my pet do whatever he wants in groups, Master 1 aery, Master 2 Vexation, Master 1 Blazing Pressence, and Master 1 Infernous seed, since its barely better than Ad1 Blazing seed. I'm currently lvl 54 with 310 INT self buffed. When my pet steals aggro from a tank he usually keeps it until something dies, either mob or itself. Tank's don't bother taunting, just a waste of power for them. Doesn't do to bad tanking especially since we can control the mob so well with stuns/stiffles. Haven't raided very much yet, but at least he hasn't stolen an epic mob yet. Tell Vet would do that on occasion pre-expansion.

![]() Currently (and I do mean this is temporary) tank taunts are far less effective and can be resisted. Good guardians with adept 3 taunts are the only tanks that have been able to get or hold aggro vs my pets. However I have seen INSANE taunts for the 50's .. but again the ones I have seen are only adept 3 recipes, there are no app 4's for them. So they have the tools in game to do thier job but they dont have them yet. The 52 guardian one is just sick, looks to be a buff that on every hit the guardian has a 50% chance to move 1 up on the hate list. (just an example) Its the lower levels that are in trouble for taunts, and tanks holding aggro. We got a huge dps increase and they got the effectiveness of thier taunts reduced. Tip of the day = Let the tank fight for 5-10 seconds before hitting /assist /pet attack /cast 1 Either the fights are too short so its not a big deal or you can hold off and let the tanks get a head start in the aggro race, how big a head start changes tank to tank, feel it out, try not to die. Just because you can pull aggro off the tank does not mean the tank is not taunting or otherwise "doing his job" You have to change your play style some from group to group. This public conjuror message has been provided by "fire pets for crackheads" and the letter Q Dont believe everything you read, just keep it as an idea to try yourself. ![]() aye it hapened to me the other day fighting a named orc with fellows in zek. Our tank a guardian level 40 2 levels more than me couldn't get the aggro. After my pet disapeared the full grup of moobs jumped on me in few seconds I was tasting the ground. I guess was my fault usually I wait until tank has the aggro then I give him support with pet, probably that day I sent the pet to early.
