I am interested in starting a Conjurer and had a question about the AoE DoT spell lines. Are these AoE encounter specific or do they AoE an area? Thanks for the help Fazz

They are all encounter specific.

![]() It's semi-good news I would say - nothing as horrid as casting a long cast duration AE-DoT on a target and finding the target dies before your spell cast time has ended and it not landing...

.... so dont cast it on a dead mob Part of the skill of being a conj i.e support mage is casting the damage where it will be most effective during any given encounter. Casting a DOT on a mob thats nearly dead is like casting aqueous hunters on a mob with 5% HP. Adapt and overcome.

![]() It happens on mobs that are near full health as well - you pick that one, the others in the group happen to focus on it too because the first target is down and the mob's down before the AE-DoT can land - had it happen plenty of times. Solo it's perfectly doable - in a group it's pretty unpredicatable and thus frustrating...

![]() when grinding out writs you will many times grab 2 or 3 mobs that are really 3 encounters and dots just hit one. Then you wish it was a true total encounter area spell |
