In HoF managed to use Amnesia to save parts of the group during a messy wipe situation. Tank goes down....mob rushes over to warlock...I run off to the side a bit...cast amnesia as fast as I can...warlock is down and mob is after me anyway...he runs over...smacks me dead and runs back to where he was pulled from. Suicided myself basically but I was gonna die anyway, and saved 3 of the group. I managed to do this a few times in HoF and once deep in SoS as well. Takes luck though, and your group mates have to be NOT doing anything to the mob when you hit it, but it's doable.

Most recent time I used it was during the raid portion of the Mark of Awakening quest. A ranger's pets took the Guardian of Leadership's aggro away from MT, and the mob killed pets, then started on the ranger. MT was taunting like crazy to get aggro back, but no go. I used Amnesia, and the MT was able to grab aggro back.

Yes it's definitely good for situations where aggro needs to get back on the tank and the tank can't taunt enough to get it back. Used it last night again when we had the healer get aggro during a busy pull with adds, reset the mob and got it on me instead and then controlled it then. Easier rezzing me if I die than rezzing the only healer I figured and then managed to not die too. Was good!

Amnesia also be useful in solo situations with pet....helps get aggro on pet. Less dramatic then saving the entire group, but still useful.

I tend to use it if the tank has gone down. If I'm able to get the mob under control via mez or root we get the tank back up, and I use it then so that they can re-establish aggro easily, also if the conj/nec pet just won't give up aggro, comes in handy.
