10/6 patch: Coercer changes: - The stifle portion of Harrowing Silence will no longer affect epic targets. Umm..huh. Nowhere near that level and not a raider, but can anyone else possibly explain why this may have been changed? If they had removed stifles on epics from everyone in that level range it would be one thing, but we're the only ones that lost it, and it's supposed to be one of our "hallmark" capabilities. Does Agonizing have a level cap? Don't recall right now, guess we'll just have to continue using it on high-level raids if not. PigLick

Well i just read my Agonizing Silence description and they have removed the ability to stifle epics from that as well. I'm not understanding the need for this, i thought that making the recast timer longer then the duration significantly fixed the issue of perma-stifle. So let me get this straightt SOE.... You continually take away everything that makes us a utility class yet you still call us coercers, why not change our name to [Removed for Content] wizards or wannabe-chanters. What drugs exactly are you taking? Because certainly you should fire the people who made these decisions. Oh yes and btw, Illusionist still get thier TWO stifles that work on epic mobs (oh at reduced effectivenes, oooooo what a big f'in deal), not to mention to renewed use of thier group invis. Gee I wonder what class the dev in charge of chanters plays....

Ya this is getting to be out of control soe I mean come on stop taking away how about fixing then move on freakin charm sucks so bad it dont even have the right to be on my hot bar and now taking away stifles like this I mean [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] I have already put a 50 toon on the shelf because of crap like this and now my second choice in toons is starting to look the same keep it up SOE I wont make a third toon.

It doesn't make sense that only Coercer silence is nerfed and not Illusionists. What is the point of that? What about other classes that can silence?

![]() atm i wouldnt bet that any stun or stifle skill of any the enchanter subclasses actually works on epics. i got some msg today that the target is to powerful for my stun spell (lvl 55 epicx2 mob) although there is no lvl restriction or so in the spell description, it just says "increased resist on epic mobs" or something of that kind. for the patch msg only mentioning coercers, wouldnt be the first time that illu are not explecitely mentioned but their spells still got changed as well. only testing or a Dev could clarify. |

It still makes me laugh. We keep asking for fixes and we keep getting nerfed. I'm still waiting for that message where we are all actually excited about the change.

Patch Notes Oct 7th: By mistake we took away Coercer's stifle on epics when we meant to give them another one to match Illusionists two stifles. Coercers now have another epic stifle. Coercers non hate reducing stun line has been reduced to 1 second cast time similar to before combat changes making it actually worth casting once again. Charm is now fixed duration with length based on spell quality ie. app1 6min, adp 1 8 min , master 1 12 min We now have one developer actually playing a coercer so there will be more fixes incoming.

The reason they took our stifle away was so we could have TM go off once :smileyvery-happy:

this makes me really sad! /cry no wonder my guild was asking me [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] why is the mob casting and im like my stifle is [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ing on the mob i did not get a resist or anything .......... sigh..........sigh even more oh well abck to my guardian oh no wait she got the shaft aswell bah....

Uh oh, I think our nerfage has become infectious! Yesterday we lost our epic stifles, and today it turned into an epidemic! If you notice your friends and guildies wearing a face mask or asking you to step into a large plastic bubble you'll know why... PigLick

![]() And I bet they will say "Nerfed stifles/stuns so coercers would have reactives proc". Way to go Sony - dont fix the problem (badly designed class, coercer), just keep screwing with the symptoms and hosing the game in the process. Is there a dev for this class? Sure doesnt look like it - at least not one that is engaged with his community, knows and plays the class, and displays a modicum of intelligence. First the inital crap design of the class (Level 36-37 and the spell gap anyone? The useless original charm? For how many months?). Then the CU and early-break charm fiasco (for a 3 Conc slt spell no less!!!!), the lack of proc per description for our spellls (50%? No more liek 20% or less), then the large casting time on stuns (allows for lots of interrupts, get the coercer killed!), then our stilfe being deuced, then the whole game gets hosed! All because the coercer developer is apparently incompetent and incapable of doing his job, and also apparently too arrogant to bother explaining, talking to and listening to his customers (the coercers). Rant? Yep. After being nearly helpless on a raid last night and seeing my group and guildmates get wiped time and again by mobs that we did before the CU, I am a bit po'd.

![]() I've been following these boards pretty much since the game came out (actually since early beta), and I have never once seen anything that would indicate that any employee of SOE has ever played a coercer. Seriously. Not once. We just get inane comments from people that play other classes that "coercers really shine in a group".

![]() And none of us disagree that we aren't great in groups. At least I haven't read anywhere that we aren't. I think 99% of us raiding Coercers have a gripe with us being useless in a raid situation. Our power regen is #2 to bards, our dps (with TM Master 2 now being nerfed) is abysmal, and our buffs are pretty useless comparatively. We have one decent buff: the +hate buff line but we're never in the MT group (or at least shouldn't be with all the awesome buffs bards get). So basically we've become the class that isn't needed for raids. I wonder why I'm the only Coercer left in my guild that hasn't quit the game (yes we were a guild that at one time had 4 coercers). I type in /who coercer all on my server and never have seen more then 9 returns for all levels (and 9 was a one time event). So now my guild has 1 coercer, 1 illusionist and 3 bards. I wonder who will be picked before me if power regen is needed. I guess the Illusionist and I could battle it out for the last position but at least the Illusionist has a sweet +int, +wis buff so he's actually useful. Finally, why doesn't our Signet Line stack with Illusionist buffs?

![]() Just remember folks, we got a 45% hate boost, illusionists don't have that. (yes its our one redeeming quality...until aggro management becomes easier cause tanks are whining...) |

Not sure the hate boost is worth putting a chanter in MT group though. I think it is, but majority of guilds dont.
