It is not meant to fight, just a fun spell.

It is not a pet, it is a Familiar.

It will only "attack" if it is hit by an AE spell, and it has some pretty good HP and taunt. Many times my familiar has saved me for once you get out of aggro range of a mob the mob will stop following you and attack the familiar thus buying you time to get away.

I only wish they provided buffs and FT like the EQ1 Familiars did.

That's funny because that happened to me a lot in my lowbie levels. If I was in a group in Fallen Gate and we got overwhelmed and ran to the entrance, I was often the only one who survived because my cat took a couple of hits for me. I've never noticed it happening with my other familiars.

All of them will, it depends on the mobs you are killing. If you get AE'd your Flappy will go straight to the mob that cast it. This can prove quite helpful for pointing out which mob needs to die first or needs to be stifled/stunned for in alot of situations of this nature the AE's will be the death of a group.
