I love my new Inferno (upgraded it to Adept3) but I am having some problems with it.

I usually ROC a group, cast wind spell and then follow up with Inferno. But Inferno fails repeatdly. I get a similar message to " Target not available"

I am not sure what happens, but I got the mob targeted, but casting it repeatly on the mob still yields the message that I cant cast it on the target.
This happened several times yesterday on different group of mobs.

Inferno only hits mobs that are around the caster.

Read the spell description. They changed how this line of spell works, although it is still quite useful.

yes, it's very short range, 10m I believe.  One thing you can do is target yourself and cast the spell.  If the mobs are out of range it won't hit them, but works great for breaking stealth in PvP SMILEY

Also, note that it will hit everything near you, not just what you have targetted.

Yes run up behind the tank and cast Inferno, it hits everything ina 7.5m radius so make sure your tank is taunting all mobs especially if there is more than one encounter on tank.  Be careful though when dungeon crawling as you may pull some stuff close by.  Also remember to keep casting your Frostshield on tank while your doing this for an extra 1500sh damage everytime it refreshes.

you don't "have" to target anything... If nothing is around to get hit then it will say no availble targets after casted...

I hate it.  Only find it useful in a few situations, and be VERY careful when you use it.  it WILL hit anything and everything close by, aggro or not.  I was fighting some Coin guards (take from the rich give to the poor) when a couple that were low on health we up in my face repeated smaking on me an resisting my Frostshield retaliation, well heck with this I thought, take this and launched an Inferno upon thier sorry money grubbing butts before they could interupt me again.  POOF,  FLASH, two very dead dead coin guards, rather smugly I holster my wand and begin to saunter up to relive them of their precious tokens when WHAM General WhatsHisName has killed you.  Silly me had positioned myself too close in the fight to General WhatsHisName and his Blades friends, MY friends, and had failed to warn him to evacuate the area before my Inferno went off.  Inferno now being a dumb bomb AoE failed to note that General WhatsHisName and his soldiers were my friends.  Operative word is WERE.  Where would you like to revive? (I am not gonna ask in /gu for a rez for such a n00b move, eventhough we're all like n00bs again relearning our class and abilities)

After I understood how it worked I have used it almost all encounters I have done (since most encounters are multi-mobs).

And I am LOVING it. I hope they give us an upgrade in the 50-60 span.
