Greetings all,

I am a new Wizard on Najena.  I have found that as I acquire new spells, I am having to add toolbars or replace some that I may not need.

Question 1:  How many toolbars to you use for combat?  I currently only use the default 2, but I am considering adding one.

Question 2:  What spells should I not be using now (ie lightening strike, static pulse etc).  I guess I would like to know what replaces what.  Like "Don't use that anymore because it will have little effect or be negated by _____"  At 20, I pretty much use Freezing Whorl (sp?), Blaze, Freeze, Ice Spike, Frozen Manacles, Twisted tongue, and Incinerate (sp?).  I use Chilling Wind and Conflag on group mobs as well.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Izzy

I have 3 tool bars, the top 1 has my attack and the most used spells,(my DoTs, my normal DD, my 2 AoE and root.

my 2nd bar has the spells not used as much, (most of hte bar is empty right now)  I have spells I cast on others or myself:  accord, burning radiance, summon shadows.  Also have my painful meditation on this.  all my stuns are also on this bar also.

the bottom bar I have my call for help(so I accidently don't hit it) sprint.  I also have my level 20 fluff spell. long lasting buffs.

the 2nd and 3rd bar aren't all the way full but this is how I have it set up.  all my different types of attacks are grouped so they are all together.  No matter how you have it set up, it will take time to get use to.

2.)  I don't even use lighting burst anymore.  I mainly use icespike, blaze, BoT, I have incenerate up there just incase I want to use it.  If the spell is gray, you really don't have any more need for it.  You can usually smack a mob on the head with your stick harder then the spell will hit for.

you can have multiple tool bars up at once

this rocks concidering in eqlive you limited to a set number of available spells, this one seems to have as many as you have space for

i have 3 sets i keep up and visible at all times

one for buffs, 2 for attacks

Mine is basically the same as ccgerth's except I have 4 tool bars up so I can spread out my spells in groups more.  For my attack spells I have the single target spells along the top and the AOE version of each below it on the 2nd line.

3rd is my buffs for other players, accord, dmg adds, debuffs, cure arcana and a cpl of older nukes i rarely use anymore.

I have 3 bars up. My hotkeys are tied to my number pad as well, find it easier that way. 0 is root, 1 & 2 DOTs 3 is second root 4 & 5 is nukes and 6 is painful meditation. 7 & 8 are stuns and 9 is HO with / and * being my 2 creature nukes SMILEY find this works nicely as I work up the keypad in order from 0->6 using the other five buttons if needed.
My second bar is old spells if I need them and the 3rd is buffs, debuffs, Call of OL, my pet etc...

I have 4 bars up most of the time. They just fit at the bottom of the screen. Primary is the attack spells I use repeatedly in combat, Secondary is buff spells, Tertiary is harvesting, and the Fourth is Cure Arcane/Dispel Arcane, a few rarely used spells, and sprint/yell. When crafting, I put up another bar at the top with all my counters.
