I play a 25 brigand.  I don't think ruse is overpowered since using it is the only way I can solo grouped, even con, non heroic mobs if they have a healer.  It also doesn't seem to help at all when getting the beatdown from the arena champion. Maybe a high hit skill isn't what the devs had in mind, but if significant changes are made to the skill it will make soloing very difficult at this level.  Frankly I'd love to have 3 medium damage skills that could be used while soloing as opposed to using ruse, but from what I have seen this isn't going to be the case.

ok, will someone pls explain to me what is so cool about ruse.  It is a skill that was broken from day 1.  It was given to a broken class as a carrot and it was kept broken to make us happy.  Now they are finially fixing it to what it was always ment to be.  You get hit you hit the mob back.  Honestly it is and was really ment to be a skill used when tanking or soloing.  It is not a skill ment for raids or grouping(unless tanking i guess).      What we really should be looking at is how much our debuffs will really matter in raid situations.  We have no idea how much debuffs will be capped at.  So will our defense debuffs matter? SInce defense has a buff/debuff cap.  How much mitigation an be debuffed before you hit the cap.  This is what we really should be wanting to know.  Not "OMG RUSE LINE CHANGED AGAIN OMGZ OMGZ OMGZ".

Trei,Ok, I was referring to the arts at level 50. I'll be more clear next time.If the damage is overpowered, it will be nerfed. I don't think it is, though, even at level 21, the way the line of Ruse / Trickery / Deception progresses now.

My problem is that from what I have seen they have not 'fixed' much.  Our DPS looks like it will be less than it is now and we will get some debuffs to compensate.  I agree we need to be effective for raiding but we also need to make sure we can level effectively. I started playing a berserker at release and only recently came back and started this brigand.  I am finding levelling to be significantly harder due to lack of people interested in grouping.  Since I am solo a good deal of time now I am interested in making sure it will still be a viable style of play after the revamp.

ruse was very rarely used in raid situations, and they are doing all they can to keep it this way, however I reserve the right to not like it

we do not need ruse for soloing, and as I read in some other threads we will even be less dependant on it, since stuns are gonna last full duration, alowing us to unleash flank-back attacks while soloing aswell

I would much better like a skill I can use in a raid situation then a skill I dont need and one i can hardly find use for, just like our snare or taunt line for example

yes ruse is useless.  IMO, and i too would much rather have a useful skill to use while raiding.  Honestly, after i get lvl 60 that is all i will be doing yet again...

Snag and Cuss both have secondary effects now which should give reason to use them.As far as raiding goes, that's an opinion debate, and one I won't get into. For myself, (I wouldn't presume to speak for others) I'll use the Ruse/Trickery/Deception line while raiding, solo'ing, and grouping. And I won't be getting aggro. SMILEY
