That's not going to work. The duration of Bulwark is shorter than the recast, so if you cast it randomly whenever it likely won't be up when it's needed to protect the group. Tanks are either going to make sure they are running ACT full time or watch chat very closely.

It’s pretty straight forward when you need to cast bulwark. It tells you who needs to cast it with ample time before the counter ability hits. Personally, I love this mechanic, please siphon out the bad to endure the good and beyond.

Because if you are intelligent and can read, you will figure it out; if not, play a support class because clearly you aren’t an alpha.

So you think that having an extra distraction confirms your ability to read and that’s what makes you some sort of EQ2 “alpha” ?

I saw one guy mention that it lets him display his bravery and courage to his group. I have seen no other reason people like the mechanic, So I assume that is the most commonly accepted reason.

To be fair, this mechanic is a lot like what the cure mechanics have become for priests. Priests hate curing, especially when it is time-sensitive. This is just a time-sensitive "temp" for tanks.

Clint's post exactly highlights what I dislike about Bulwark.

With the cure so hated by priests, there is a clear marker when it is on- and a clear marker when it is gone.

With Bulwark, yes I have an ACT trigger, and I can see when I click the key it greys out- and then I have no other feedback except party health- which at the moment can go up and down for any number of reasons.

I'd actually feel much better about it if there was clear feedback ("Name thwarted by your clever and awesome and brave keypress") so I know it worked. As it is, it feels very much like I'm doing nothing- 0 positive feedback, plenty of negative. Maybe that's Dev revenge on players. Wink

cure is ok ... but we need that to stay awake since heal has become so easy (overheal or dead ... no in between)

tanks already have memwipes, they also need to position, grab adds when needed, use temps to stay alive ... why add something that is the priest work .. keep group alive ?

some tanks like paladin/guard could help healers ... and had group protection/heals ... but it's not the tank's job to keep peeps alive, it's the healer's job.
And once again a fail mechanics that heals cannot do anything about.

that's why as someone who plays both healer and tank, I don't like bulwark
