Body Dropped Quests

I've noticed that all the body dropped quests drop in one zone, but require you to kill mobs in another zone.
Additionally, they currently give characters nothing upon completion.

The first issue seems odd and counter-intuitive. The later is clearly a bug.

Flying around Doomfire does not trigger any updates.. no mobs have feathers indicating kill targets for this quest either

I thought it was intended until I saw somebody complain in General. Indeed, I dropped Air in Fire and Fire in Air.

On top of giving "nothing", they really give "nothing at all", aka no xp either.

Dropped Quests are intended to send you to other zones. They haven't been itemized yet. They will have rewards and achievements, etc.

There are also a few bugs that keep some of them from working which is fixed for tomorrow.

I'm assuming one of those quests that isn't working is "An Air Apparent: A Fractus Cloud"? Can find prismatic recluses in Eryslai (overworld) but nothing updates the quest - killing, cataloguing, etc.

If not, this is another that appears to have some problems. Smile

Current Step: I am looking for the creatures known as prismatic recluse 0/10

After zoning into Eryslai, Kingdom of Wind, the only place I found these spiders, was to take the "travel" portal and then take the "To the Aerie" portal. The prismatic recluse have no quest feathers and give no update or message.

Woot! The following changes have been made to drop quests and should be included with tomorrow's Beta update:

An Air Apparent: A Fractus Cloud - Defeating Prismatic Recluse spiders will now properly update the quest.
The Origins of Dirt: Earthen Chalk - Sepulcher muddites will now properly update the quest.
The Origins of Dirt: Energy-Rich Lipids - Detrius Mulchers will now properly update the quest.
Fuel to the Fire: A Chunk of Carbon - Quest journal now provides the name of teh quest target required.
Fuel to the Fire: Dark Gaseous Fuel - Quest journal now provides the name of teh quest target required.
Fuel to the Fire: A Laminar Flame - Fiery spirits will now properly update the quest, and the journal now correctly identifies the creature name.

Dropped Quests where the starter drops in Dextroxxulous and the mobs are killed in Vega:
All of these are dropping and are successfully completable

Dropped Quests where the starter drops in Vega and mobs are killed in Dex:
Decay by Any Other Named: Diseased Lipids and Decay by Any Other Named: Digesting Rotting Leaves - Pieces seem much more rare than others. I've done three runs through each section of the zone where I try to kill each mob type 25-30 times before moving on. Diseased Lipids I got on my last run of three. I think I got the rotting leaves while working on the Sig line, and think I finished it after my first round.

I noticed that A Vekerchiki combatant and A vekerchiki warrior drop the same piece (plagued flesh), but a vekerchiki drone drops a different piece (diseased chalky substance). I was wondering if that's a mistake as I've been able to find: a cankerous fungi, a decaying bone, diseased chalky substance, plagued flesh, rotting deadwood, digested rotting leaves, and diseased lipids, but I cannot find the last one.

Additional note: of the 7 I've discovered, I was able to complete them all successfully

I just confirmed both the quest starter and the updates are using the same % chance for these quests, as the others.

No mistake there, Pheidra. I also confirmed that the last drop quest "A Diseased Worm" is obtainable.

Hey Kaitheel,
I think I might know my issue! I completed some of the quests while I was doing the sig line and didn't think to write down for re-testing, and I just noticed some of my quests in my journal aren't showing as repeatable. Maybe I can't make the items drop again because of it? Could you look into:

Fuel to the Fire: A chunk of carbon
Fuel to the Fire: A glowing Ember
Fuel to the Fire: A Laminar Flame
Fuel to the Fire: A Turbulent Flame
An Air Apparent: A Cirrus Cloud
An Air Apparent: A Fragment of Solidified Lightning
An Air Apparent: A Stratus Cloud

I'm still missing the one drop in Vega and two in Air I'll keep working on =)

As for the % drops - it might just seem like it takes more/longer for me due to the mobs being more spread out. I'll watch for that and try to count #s

Kaitheel, can you tell us if the dropped quest starters are only on the loot tables of one type of mob, or can anything potentially drop them?

It fits the story line, though. The big problem is that the various elemental plans are infested with elemental influences from other planes, as well as the effects of chaos.

Picking up where I left off before vacation:

- Huzzah! I finally found the last one! That being said, I'd killed dozens of those mobs on previous days. I'm not sure if something was fixed here, OR, there was some testing done where pets were killing the mobs and causing no credit. I decided to try turning my pet off and walla, the item dropped. Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but I can assure you I was fairly confident on which mob dropped it and killed a ton of them, so might be worth looking into. Just in case, I've got the SK pet in timeout atm Smile

Quick note:
I haven't been successful at re-finding "a glowing ember", though it is in my completed journal and reads repeatable. So far I've confirmed Carbon, Thurmite, Laminar Flame, Turbulent Flame, and Dark Gaseous Fuel.

Has anyone found the remaining two?

Minor thing - Got a small chest drop of "an exothermic substance" which grants the quest "Fuel to the fire: Am exothermic substance" Just thought you all may want to change that M Smile

Excellent! I'll check on those the others that have lesser/plain/greater mobs.
On another note, I don't seem to be getting achievement updates for finishing these Re: Triumphs - Elements of Chaos. I've finished Decay by Any Other Name, The Origins of Dirt, and An Air Apparent, but none of them are highlighted. Not sure if that's intended?

Fuel to the Fire: A Chunk of Carbon requires 15 mob kills when most other quests require 8-10.
Wondering if the other quests got scaled back but this one didnt?
