Shiny Producing Critters

Is there a plan for the gnawed bones etc. to produce random PoP shinies when fed to your existing plant, octopus, or other shiny creator?

Just for the record.. only the octopus got updated with ToT (and KA shinies?).. the other critters didn't get the most recent shinies
