Start your quests by completing "What Lies Beneath" (see the beta buffer in Village of Shin or Maldura) and then talk to Brytthel to start with "An Urgent Call".

If you get stuck or have a problem with a quest, please include this information:
  • What is the name of the quest?
  • Who gave you the quest?
  • What does the current step of the quest say in your journal?
  • What exactly isn't working or as expected?
  • Did you take any particular steps that made this problem happen?

This is not an option. If you don't know goblin it's just harvestables you can collect to learn it. If you do already know it, you won't even see the harvestables. Same quest, just different way of getting the updates.

I have starters for both trade skill and adventurer quests. Upon hailing the queen in Zou... I can only progress the adventurer line. Forging Onwards wants me to bring the stone to the queen (which I have) but she doesn't respond to me for trade skill quest.

I spent more time running for my life from bad guys than anything crafting. I'm positive I zoned into a tradeskill instance. Are we supposed to be max level adventurers too?

I logged into beta with a toon that did not yet have maldura faction, so lots of guards around Brythell killed me...any way to give "good faction" to those who want to test?

Pretty sure they said a pre-req for the KA stuff was to complete the ToT sig line first. that should give you some friendly faction with them...

Maybe in thinking of the adventure side?

You have to have completed the signature quest in Terrors of Thalumbra, either crafting or adventure (or both) to continue on the KA signature lines.

Per a "Welcome to Beta" post I read not too long ago:

Not sure if factions are included though.

  • What is the name of the quest? Into the Spire
  • Who gave you the quest? Queen Alwenielle left a note that sent me to the spire.
  • What does the current step of the quest say in your journal? Create a distraction for the Primordial Malice guards.
  • What exactly isn't working or as expected? The text is very vague. I gathered from talking to Domino that I'm not supposed to kill the guards, and there's a guard in almost every room. I've moused over and clicked everything I can, but I can't figure out how to create a distraction. Found potentially explosive/flammable crates, but I can't interact with them. Found a podium that can cast spells if I find a book (which I can't). Found a room with broken portal pieces, but cannot interact with them either.
  • Did you take any particular steps that made this problem happen? Nothing out of the ordinary, unless killing the guards messed up the quest somehow. Since I ran into the room and wasn't expecting to see agro mobs there, I killed the first mob that I ran into, then just ran from the others.

The beta buffer gives you Maldura faction when he buffs you. If you copied an existing character, then you should already have the faction, or complete one of the entry quests from ToT (either adventure or tradeskill).

If you've done any of the tradeskill quests for the last 9 years then you should already know the answer to this, and therefore, you're either in the wrong instance or you're not thinking like the sneaky crafter you need to be to survive in an instance with hostile enemies. PS - I'll actually changing the NPCs in the Arcanna'se instance to be EPIC so it's 100% clear they are THERE TO MURDER YOU not to be killed. Hopefully that'll help clarify the situation ... BigGrin

Sounds like we may need to check if this can be handled more smoothly, but when two quests have you talk to the same person, you're always going to have to pick one to do first (or the game will have to pick that for you). Get past that stage on one of them, and you'll be able to progress the other. They're going to send you into two different instances of the spire anyway, and you'll have to choose one to do first at that point.
If you want to do both and want to experience them in the "right" order, the adventure quest is supposed to happen slightly before the tradeskill quest, story-wise. So it'll make more sense to do the adventure part first, if you choose to do both. (But either way around will work.)

I've done all of the tradeskill quests in existence, but I think you've hit on my problem. I've always been max adventure level at the time I've run the crafting quest lines. It's been a number of years since I was a low adventure level crafter in a high level zone and I don't remember how to think like sneaky one lol.

Also, I have a bad cold fogging my brain, so I'm going to take some cold medicine, lie down for a bit to give it time to work, make some coffee, and get back to it in a bit Smile

Bug: first craft "Imitation Chaos Stone", done at my house on the forge we obtained with the crafter collectibles, it did not validate the quest. Done it again at Maldura forge and it validates.

The Queen isn't in Zou'whatever on the 1st quest. The instance in Maldura doesn't respond/update when hailed.

Ah, that seems to be because I specifically listed the zone it's to be completed in as Maldura. I will fix that so it can be done in zones other than Maldura. Smile

Quest giver Glibnox - Bone Collecting - went without an issue and completed it.

[BUG?] Scrying Eyes - assemble scrying eyes takes components chokidai bones. The bones were taken on the prior quest.
I've gone back to the gathering area as well as did a circular pattern search and no luck on any more bones.

Probably missing something or maybe the bones were supposed to stay in my inventory?

Urg, that is indeed a serious bug, the bones are not supposed to be removed yet. Have checked in a fix, but not sure which update it'll make it into.

Holy moly. I have literally been running around the tradeskill instance for a couple of hours trying to figure out what the 0/6 things to free the queen are. I have clicked until my mouse is about worn out. There needs to be some direction, hints in the quest language....something, to at least mitigate some of this frustration lol.

minor issue:

quest giver Glibnox
not sure of the quest name (error was on completion) - quest where I gathered the slugs

Text from chat window:

you receive 1 extra Sovereign Rile for because you are a member
quest reward: Charm of Lost Things
quest reward: Sovereign Rile
Items were placed in your currency window
You say to Glibnox "Only my temper. I'll give it a try"
You already have Charm of Lost Things and can cannot have another
An error has prevented you from receiving an item required for this quest

I have the charm so it's not causing a problem.

Getting Hooked:

If you get ahead of yourself on this step by examining the recipe and going off to look for components, you can trip yourself up, but it is recoverable. Grab 3 rusty nails, run back and craft, THEN realize you need to gather 9 nails before you start crafting. The thing is that the quest counter will be on 3 bits of metal still, leaving you thinking you need to only gather 6 more. You need to gather 9 more to make up for the 3 that you already crafted with, because that premature hooking won't count as your 1/3 hooks.

Well, at least I know I'm not going crazy. Someone helped me out with some clues on Discord chat, and it turns out the things I'm looking for aren't rendering. I'm going to copy over another crafter and start the quest again to see if I have the same problem. If I do, I'll try it from my laptop and see if it's the graphics card, the settings, or something else. Other folks seem to have no problem seeing the things I need to free the queen, so it may just be me.

edit: Thank you Sejreia!

That someone would be me. =D Yes we are both stuck on Scrying Eyes with no bones because Bone Collecting deleted them from inventory.

Update, logged into another character, different account, same computer. The purple orbs I needed were in plain view, so it must have just been something off with the one character. I'm going to see if I can delete the quest and start it from where ever the last completed part is.

ran around instance also looking for how to save queen..and make a distraction... I think it has something to do with lighting the crates on fire in the next room but just like you there is nothing clickable in the zone to light these on fire...maybe I'm bugged also or am I missing something?

You are a crafter. Perhaps there is a recipe for making something in the zone go BOOM

  • What is the name of the quest? Forging Onwards
  • Who gave you the quest? Elanluelle
  • What does the current step of the quest say in your journal? Queen Alwenielle awaits in the glaufaye village: Return to Queen Alwenielle
  • What exactly isn't working or as expected? the queen is not there, was there for previous update, but went to Elanluelle to get the spell cast on me, and upon returning to the queen she was gone, with no dialog or quest update saying she was missing or whatnot, just says to return to the queen
  • Did you take any particular steps that made this problem happen? No, just talked to the queen in Zou,Lidelas update with Elanluelle and went back to spot where queen was and she is gone.
Currently on step 5 of the quest
