![]() I have written a sales log analyzer which will give you a detail summary of your sales activities. An example of the report of my sales logs can be viewed at http://68.52.116.52/DarkForgeAlliance/Blackburrow_Physnick_StoreLogSummary.html Some of the details include total sale, unique items sold, and total items sold. It then groups sales amounts by hour of the day letting you know when you highest sales are. The next sections are Harvest Items Sold(Alphabetical), Highest Amount Sold by Item, Total Sales, Highest Avg Price, and All Items Sold. Harvest Items are classified by the number of the item you sale, which can be changed. The default is 25. The report file (HTML) is saved to the Everquest II dir in the format of server_charname_StoreLogSummary.html The executable can be downloaded from http://68.52.116.52/downloads/eq2Log.zip Select Save and extract. I have it sitting on my desktop. It is written in visual basic. It does NOT attempt to go out to the internet or report back to the mothership anywhere. The only file that may be needed may be MSCOMCTL.OCX which you can get from http://68.52.116.52/downloads/MSCOMCTL.OCX and save to c:windowssystem32 I hope everyone likes it. Report any problems to me at [email protected] Message Edited by RathKemnebi on 02-12-200607:39 PM |

Hey, Very coool! I know that they have stated that as long as a program doesn't automate any part of the game (e.g. combatstats puts the stats into the clipboard but you have to paste it into chat by yourself) stat programs are ok. Here are a couple suggestions if they aren't too hard. You might want to rename "harvest items" "bulk items" as it will inevitably get non-harvest things. Is it possible to make the program window resizable? Would it be possible to click on a column and sort by that column? That would make it easier to look at the results within the program. Again, great work! Othesus - Lucan DLere

![]() Thanks. I was having trouble coming up with a name to classifying what to call the items that would be listed and decided to use harvest since that was the reason I wrote it, to assist me while I was out harvesting, but bulk items is a good choice. I can change it. As far as anything legal, it does not interact with the EQ2 program in any way. It scans the store log file located in the eq2 program directory, so there should be no issues there. I can work on the progam modifications but the web page that is written out to the eq2 program dir really sorts into the different category lists quite throughly and all the numbers in the program itself is the price converted to copper for calcuations purposes. Below is the screen capture of the program ![]() |

umm. The problem wasn’t with the sales log file. The problem was with running your http://68.52.116.52/downloads/eq2Log.ex file. I download it to the desktop, renamed it and double clicked it. That is when I got the runtime error. Anyway I figured out what the problem was that I was having. The file needs to be saved into your EverQuest II directory for it to run. I do have one suggestion. It would be nice if when you clicked on the column headers (Item Sold, Amount, Min Price, etc) if it sorted the list by that column. It would be nice to be able to click on the Amount column and see what my top sellers are.

All the sorting and analyzing is done in the web page in the different areas. The program mainly does the parsing and outputs the results. The columns are still converted in copper but is converted back to p, g, s & c on the output web page. And the web page allows you to review your sales without having to reparse the sales log each time.

Should be legal. It's essentially a sales parser.

![]() Great program!
However, I'm missing one very important feature:
Why not make an extra button that allows you to combine all logs, so that you get one overview containing all log files you have? For programs like EQ Companion it's important to keep the size of the logs manageable - every 4 weeks or so you therefore need to split up the log files. This however makes it impossible to get one list of all your sales. Message Edited by Yomarbalthasar on 10-28-2005 01:13 AM

Nice program, however it needs to also check the current directory for the log files. If EQ2 is not installed into the x:Program FilesEverquest 2 directory it refuses to run. Either needs to also check the current directory or have an configuration file or accept a command line argument. One suggestion is to allow the program to run even when it encounters an error condition, and add a file - open menu for the log files.

During Form_Load() the program tries to read the reg key SOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionApp PathsEverQuest2.exe. If it is there it just presses on,but if not it tries to search different locations for EQ2. If you have a really unusual install point, send me an email at [email protected] and I can modify it for whatever location it is installed to.

![]() I have fix a problem that occured when sony changed the sales output file back on Oct 20. Before they had all coin types in the output price- for exampleOctober 18, 2005, 07:17:51 PM Rocawne buys Elemental Vestment (Adept I) for 1 Platinum, 0 Gold, 0 Silver, 0 CopperOctober 19, 2005, 02:57:20 AM Radian buys A Rusting Gear for 5 Gold, 75 Silver, 0 Copper but then they stop outputting coin that equals 0 October 20, 2005, 05:29:33 AM Kilea buys Rules ofthe Sandscrawler Clan - Page 7 for 9 Gold, 75 Silver (no copper)October 21, 2005, 12:29:41 AM Meldo buys Oozing Wound (Apprentice IV) for 10 Gold (no silver, no copper) You can still download it from http://68.52.116.52/downloads/eq2Log.zip Message Edited by RathKemnebi on 02-13-200610:15 AM |

Good job. I wrote one of these parsers also in VB for my own needs. I made my parser summarize all of my character logs on any networked machine by using a batch file that lists the path to each merchant log. Your's has a more slick interface I must say. I also like how you send reports outs to html.

![]() I have gotten very good at writing out html code from visual basic into a text file, but it is very ugly code with all the double-double quotes and all. Acutally what I did is figure out how I want the web page to look then, just converted to vb code. So in order to write a line out similar to: 1312 | You have to use the line below to print out to the text file Print #1, " " & ConvertCurrencyBackToString(ListView2.ListItems(i) .SubItems(5)) & " | "Then sometimes you have to deal with triple double quotes |

![]() One minor issue. It doesnt seem to actually use the number of items sold at all. For example:
gets parsed as 1 tea leaf with a price of 4g 55s. This bumps up the max price and the average price considerably. and also means you dont have an accurate picture of how many of an item you have sold. Keep up the good work. this is a handy little program. :smileyhappy:
