So are the initial hits and dot portions separate for crit calculations?

I did some tests on training dummies with auto attack to see how crit chance affects the new criticals.
900.4 Critical Chance: 4,572 Hits 15 Mythical (0.328%) 526 Legendary (11.5%) 124 Fabled (2.7%) 1435.4 Critical Chance: 5,718 Hits 70 Mythical (1.22%) 867 Legendary (15.16%) 252 Fabled (4.4%) From this, each point of Critical Chance past 900 (assuming linear) gives approximately: 0.0016% Mythical 0.0068% Legendary 0.0032% Fabled Or, a Superior Rune: Critical Chance (32) gives: 0.05% Mythical 0.217% Legendary 0.1% Fabled Or, an Incandescent Adornment of Critical Chance (Superior) (14) gives: 0.005% Mythical 0.095% Legendary 0.448% Fabled |

I did some similar testing but even over several thousand crits at the same crit chance there was quite a bit of variation from the RNG. It would be nice to know from SOE the underlying values for how the 3 different crits grow as you increase crit chance.

I never learned to play game using ACT to figure everything out and I dont want to.
So just ask simple question here. How does AoM compared to ToV with setting up my gear? As long as I know what stats work for my 10 toons and effective caps then know how to setup my gear and AA for their different roles. |

If you don't want to use ACT to figure things out, then why care about your stats?
Just equip something that looks cool. It's what I do. And what Corydonn does, I think. |

![]() This was an attempt at explaining, not judging. I am usually the type to silently just let it go, it's not a winnable fight but you seemed to not understand why someone would respond in any way but positively |

Correct. Unless you are incapable of using ACT and crunching the numbers, you should absolutely feel some obligation to help yourself, and god forbid, contribute the community.
And if you just don't care, then why would someone else do the work for you? Not to mention, so much of "being a good player" relies on ACT beyond what you can do without it. It's not just about gear. In fact, being a good player has so little to do with gear it's incredible. Gearing just determines what content you play in, not how well you play in it. |
