Finally got to try with the new patch, no luck, still the same problems, crashing at loading character to zone in the tranquil sea. Really getting quit bummed at this point. Going to upload a couple crash reports tomorrow as a complaint so maybe you guys can make some sense of them, they are way to long to load here, they will take 2 or 3 pages.

I again deleted beta and started again, copying all files over from eq2. Did a new character copy and got zoned into the commonlands. Crashed upon zoning into the TS. Came back in ok. FPS is still painfully low, at around 7. Normal game runs at around 65. Frustrating at best, rage inducing at worst.

Still happening for me. Was hopeful, about the patch. I even created a fresh heroic toon that is now stuck in TS and unable to load. Any and all, toons I have transferred or created on Beta work just fine until trying to load to TS. All crash at loading zone resources. Keeping my fingers crossed and still hopeful I'lol get to test and play AoM.

I was just able to get in prior to this patch! I couldn't believe it! I'm still smoking the joint I rolled in celebration!
A few serious notes: 1) Did not delete any cache files or any little tricks of that sort since last patch when I attempted to load in. 2) Did not redownload anything since last week, when I had redownloaded for my third time. 3) Still seeing ToV artwork under the AoM logo on load screen. Prior to my last redownload I saw the correct artwork with AoM. 4) I want to know if the new music the Theme song transitions into is AoM material or something dug up elsewhere? It reads new to me and it spits Malice from every pore. Props to that department, when's the song available to download on iTunes, or maybe we get a copy to download for free after this Beta mess! 5) I don't think this morning's patch will change anything for me as I got in off of Tuesday's patchwork apparently, but either way thanks for all the work and whoever still can't get in have faith, they got this! |

I'm still having the issue.
I'm sorry, but this is beyond frustration, I'm trying to force myself to log on to the live server after these troubles, but I can't. I undestand that you are working on the fix, and I'm not a programer either, but how on the Earth a 32-bit application can not work on a 32-bit sytem? From my pure noobish point of view, if I have no troubles in the rest of Norrath, if I can log in any zones, but the new, if I can raid in any "old" instance...it's not my PC, it's not my drivers, not corrupted files or something else. The problem is in the new content, in the code, optimisation and so on. I'm trying to stay calm, but it's just two weeks till the launch and I'm afraid of the issue going live. |

Another update. Another fail on Adding Character to the Zone.
Nothing has changed from my previous replies and live is still working fine. On the plus side .. WoW and ESO are both loading and working great with all their updates applied. |

Hmm, I was able to play on beta fine the other day. Due to my real life schedule, I haven't been able to play the last two days, but today when I try to load my brigand in, the game crashes while loading zone resources. I had logged out inside the dungeon where the Fiery Effigy of Clotl'thoa is and when I logged back in, it kept popping a message up across my screen that the instance had expired, so I hit Escape and it tried to load me back into the Tranquil Sea, at which point is when the crashing began to occur. Now I can't get back in at all...at least not on that character. I will try another character and see if they can get in. No problem playing on live.

![]() I specifically ensured that streaming is turned off in options, but I see an assetcache folder in both my original and beta version of the game. If it only creates it when the game is set to streaming, why does it create it in my folders when streaming is set to off? My beastlord loaded into Commonlands just fine. Took forever for the last 150kb to load in while loading zone resources, to get to Antonica, but it did finally load in. Game crashed again while trying to get into the Tranquil Sea. Not sure why this is happening, as it did work fine only two days ago. I'll try deleting cache, assetcache, and logincache folders, relaunch, validate, and see if it works again after that. |

SoE Build 11452
Still crashing at loading zone resources when trying to get to tranquil sea this time on Alenna.it gets to loading zone resources and just sits there happened at 1:45pm PST today got the eq2 client crash message seconds later. and began teh crahs process which lasted at least 3 minutes. well at least it is crashing faster I guess that is one good thing. ![]() sigh it is beginning to look like i have finaly hit the wall and will be unable to enjoy EQ2 anymore.which is a shame since I have not found a game I love so well. if things don't change guess I"ll have to go to one I don't love as well that has no problem letting me play. |

![]() There are two clients - a streaming one and a full download one. http://launch.soe.com/installer/EQ2_Streaming_setup.exe http://launch.soe.com/installer/EQ2_setup.exe I'm guessing you have the streaming client but have background streaming disabled. |

![]() Edit: By the way, deleting cache folders worked. I'm able to zone in again, at least on my beastlord. Haven't tried my brigand yet, but since it was broke for my beastlord and deleting cache folders worked, I imagine it will work again for her as well. Still crashing to character select screen or desktop when loading into a new zone, though. Once I've loaded, it works fine. |

I still believe it's a memory problem. After every crash the system creates a dump file, which is always over 1.6 gb. That means the process has been already using at least 1.6 gb and failing to use more. Besides, the crash happens during adding character to the zone, when there is no picture but loading scrin. So it can't be graphic card errordriversdirectX or something like that.
It's very similar to what is happening when I run HKC on a live server: The longer I'm in the zone, the deeper I go, the more memory it uses , the more chances my game will crash. It just fails to load " a new set of texturesmobs" at some point and crash. But It only happens If I run on balanced( my usual sologroup setting). If I use the raid settings with lower graphic, I never get crash in HKC. |

I looked at my dump file(From yesterday's attempt) it is 1.6gb and I am only at loading zone resources(hope this information might help devs figure it out)
I am going to try one thing to see if my 2ndary internal drive the D drive may be failing(yes my system is a one that was cobbled together with the help of numorous friends who donated the components) which would mean files get corrupted going to put beta in my external G drive and see if I can get into the AoM zones it means a third instance of the EQ2 client but I want to begin testing the expansion and see if since my C drive handles the live server no problem I can see my way into buying the expansion. |

24OCT14 and I'm still crashing when entering the Tranquil Sea. I don't think this is a memory problem. I'm running windows xp 32 bit, with only 2.8 GB ram, but I monitor the game's memory usage on the task manager when I zone. In the normal EQ2 game I sometimes crash due to memory issues when zoning into my guild hall - but in those cases the game takes more than 1.8 GB of memory. For the beta Tranquil Sea, I'm crashing when "adding character to zone" but the game is only taking 1.5 GB when I crash. So I don't think it's a memory problem.

Ok so even with all the patching, reinstalling, adding this and thats etc, I still get kicked to desktop when zoning in to the Tranquil Sea. I watch my memory use and its the same as the live so no changes there. I got the crash report from drwtsn32 and I am going to do a short share because this won't let me put everything.

I am now able to zone into Tranquil Sea area, and although it is awfully laggy that I have issues moving or anything I am in the zone.
someone suggested to disable duel core support to reduce lag.. does this make any sense in doing so as it doesnt to me |

I was able to zone into TS last week and run around for a few minutes before the game crashed. During that time I noticed the warping bubble effect around the tower. Since then I too was having the crashing issue. That is till yesterday. Now I can zone into TS and play, for a short while because at some point I still eventually crash. I noticed that the warping bubble effect around the tower is no longer present, so I assumed that's what was causing the crashing. However I'm crashing in Qeynos too, so it must still be something else.
