![]() Hilton in August! July is already really busy and that is the same week as the 4th of July, making it very inconvenient... August at Hilton FTW |

![]() Can't we have Bally's in August again? Dates notwithstanding, Bally's > Hilton. |

![]() Although I've never been to anywhere else in Vegas, I had a great time at Bally's at the 2009 Fan Faire and it sounds like it was a simillar experience this year. Might as well go with what you know |

![]() Dates don't matter to me, While I like the rooms at the Hilton better. The dining choices at Ballys is better and being on the strip is a huge plus. It just makes it nicer to visit other hotels withiin walking distance. |

![]() If PlanetSide has something going on at the Fan Faire, I'll definitely be there. I can probably drag DarkFate there too and other fans of the game will likely go..Just as long as we have a reason to go. Many MMOFPS fans aren't interested in goblins, fairy tales, and lightning spells. We want guns, explosions and PLANETSIDE! |

![]() Who cares about being on the strip? That's just too tourist for words. If you want to play, head downtown to Fremont Street! |

QFE! Hilton as a choice makes it a no brainer, sadly. Even though Hilton has the monorail stop (Bally's does, too), it feels very distant from the rest of Vegas and so isolated in terms of choices for food/rooms/etc. It also felt run down and dirty last time Fan Faire was there. The pool party Friday night at Bally's this year was absolutely the best Friday night party, too. |

![]() The Hilton dates are the exact same dates as GENCON! I know we will not attend Fanfaire this year if it's the same weekend as GenCon.... this isn't the first time Fanfaire has conflicted with it! Please take that into consideration |

![]() July kinda stinks. August pwns. Bally's is more convenient for location, but the dates might make it difficult, plus it's more expensive. |

![]() Never never NEVER will I stay at the Hilton again. Bally's has been great the last two years, and of the 4 years I've gone to FF, the year at the Hilton was the worst. Don't make me remind you how I got pinkeye from the sheets at the Hilton. I was NOT a pretty half elf that year. |

![]() I am for Hilton...its cheaper. One question how are the amenities at the Hilton, staying in the backwater ballies kinda almost ruined fan faire for us this year, no coke, no wireless internet (and $10 a day for wired internet). Yes the pool party was awesome, not having stayed anywhere else in vegas but having stayed in many other hotels...Ballies was like I was staying in a 3rd world country no amenities to speak of tube TV, I didnt feel like i was in a resort hotel I felt like i was at a super 8 with slot machines. One person did mention that the Hilton felt isolated and off the strip? Really that sounds grand since most of the day was spent in the hotel at the faire and the rest of the day drinking with my guildies I could careless what outside the hotel looks like |

![]() I've been to the Hilton which was okay, nothing special aside from the Star Trek stuff, which I am not a fan of to begin with. Yet, I've also stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations, which is at the South end of The Strip. Now if I were you I'd totally look into the Hilton Grand Vacations. The rooms are luxurious and the hotel is newer, which means everyone gets in-room jacuzzi bath tubs, full kitchens, living rooms and master bedrooms. Way beyond your common Hotel, but if this is going to be a one time a year deal why not go all the way. Think about it this way, surely SOE has some events and gatherings but they won't last beyond the common hours, yet afterhours can be had by guildies and plain acquaintances in your own hotel suite. Granted, it might cost a bit more, but I assure you, everyone will go away from this experience with a good story to tell. If Fan Faire doesn't spark your cheer I reckon the room all its own will make your adventure much more pleasing.Look into it. |

![]() FYI: Hilton Hotels have many branches, and your feeling for the hotel will surely be based on which branch you stay at. For instance, if you stay at Embassy Suites, HGV or Homewood Suites you will come away with a hotel experience to be cherished for with all these you get breakfast, lunch and happy hour Mon-Fri which of course helps by not having to pay for a delicious breakfast, decent lunch or FREE beer and snacks in the evening. Whereas if you stay at any of the other Hilton branches you will surely gawk at the price and go away imagining what it could have been like if you stayed at one of the preferred listed branches above. Case-in-point, you don't have to hate your hotel stay. Just look around and you will find a great hotel at a great price. Look even harder and your can find luxury at your fingertips for little more per night, but with that added extra price you get all the creature comforts from home, and even more.Want rewards? Just sign up for free at HHonors.com, they will reward you with free hotel stays and even on occasion send you offers for Hilton Grand Vacations offers, offers that are very hard to beat. Consider this, a 3-night stay at Hilton Grand Vacations in LV for the whopping price of $175!!!! Granted you must attend one of those 'timeshare walkthroughs', but hey, a nice room with an in-room jacuzzi, master bed, full kitchen and living room at that price for a weekend just can't be beat.Just a little info for you heavy travelers and weekend deal seekers.Keep in mind, Hilton operates hotels around the globe, so you are not suck to the lower 48 in getting rewards or nice hotel rooms. |

Really it's more than likely a cost issue. Vegas is actually pretty cheap compared to many places here on the East Coast.. Trust me, I would love to have it here on the East Coast as the trip from Vermont to Vegas is generally 7 hours in the air and they don't make those seats big enough for my gamer hips /chuckle.... And also, the logistics of getting all of SOE's gear, tech and people over to the east coast is probably more of a nightmare than getting it all to Vegas... So, in a business sense it just makes more sense to have it somewhere that is more cost effective for them and for the greater gaming populace... |
