Now that the schedule is out, I'd like to know if I'm missing something somewhere.  On the listing of the benefits of each level of access, the very last check mark was that there were VIP events that could be accessed only by paying max price for a platinum pass.  Yet, on the released schedule, I don't see anything at all that says it is only for platinum pass holders.

So I guess my question is....did people spend the extra money on a platinum pass, for anything more than another in game item?

I'am wondering that myself. The only difference I see for the plat pass is unlimited green screen pictures. As for in game items.. I play EQ and already have the magic dice, from the last FF...SO what is the VIP for the platinum holders?I'm kinda feeling robbed. There is no off-site party...its a pool party at Ballys...So its gonna be very hot with no places to sit.I can go to any local bar (in my home town) to find karoke...I'm paying 1000$ dollars to sit out in the heat to watch people I dont know try to sing.SO really...what does a platinum pass get me?I paid for what??

That is just the first schedule, the full one doesn't come out usually until a week or two prior to the event. That said I would like to know what addtional Stuff the Platinum and Gold passes give in more detail too.

I was actually just asking this on another thread. If we're not getting anything other than the green screen pictures, I'm thinking it was a waste of money. We didn't even take a green screen photo last year! I hope they do come out with a revised schedule before fan faire, but right now, I'm feeling a bit robbed.

From first look at the schedule I also thought the pool party was at the pool. Alas, it is not, it is in the Bally's Event Center, which is the same place as the Thursday night reception, as well as the Saturday night banquet. So if nothing else, at least we won't be out in the heat!

Interrestingly enough "Bally's Event Center" does not appear to be on the map as a defined area. It could be a generic terms for the entire area or somesuch...

That is because it is cropped off the map, the event center is the red area at the top of the map, where the Restrooms and event center office is.

You can see the full map here.

The pool party has no pool?

The schedule that is posted is just the first edition...   Other events are being finalized, I have passed along the feedback regarding the lack of VIP events SMILEY

Also I am pretty sure the Pool Party is at a Pool, that's probably just an error.

So Thursday night we have the meet and greet...Friday is the party...Off site? I guess not.Its another pool party like we had at the Rio.Maybe a band playing? Or more karoke? Very hot in Vegas...with no places to sit. Like I have said...I can go to any of my local bars if karoke is what I'm after...BUT I'm not. I was hoping for more...something different! If I'm forced to listen to karoke..I'd like places to sit down.At the Rio chairs and tables were hard to find.

What do the platinum pass holders get that makes it worth paying for more?

Well, a few questions have been answered, and if you look at the FAQ page of the Fan Faire site you'll see most of what you are getting. I believe I read or heard somewhere that platinum pass members get a special line to pick up your pass and goodies.

The only thing that really remains a mystery is what kind of events we will be getting "VIP" access to. I am personally wondering in what kind of scale we have to think for this. How many people have secured their platinum pass? I don't need exact numbers, but just to get an idea. Are we talking 100, 250, 500 or 1000 people?

according to the newly revised schedule out today "Lounge for Platinum Pass holders only. Show your Fan Faire 2010 Platinum Registration badge to enter our first ever Platinum Lounge and hang with your friends and guides!".

I'm assuming its the same "Lounge" set up that everyone had access to for the past few years. I hardly ever saw anyone using it. So glad we spent $50 for in-game items we already have and a lounge few people actually used. /smirk

There's a regular lounge too, so I'm hoping the "Platinum Lounge" has free drinks.  That would make it worth it for me.

Time to play devil's advocate.  There is still 3 weeks left until FF.  They may not have all the events finalized.  I think everyone needs to calm down and be patient about the VIP events for us Platinum Holders.

That being said, SOE, I hope you have something planned cause having that many angry video game geeks rage at once would make Obi-Wan say "Dang, I thought the disturbance in the force when Alderaan blew up was bad......."

I really hope so, because that alone is what made the platinum pass worth it to me.  Back and leg problems - standing too long killed me last year.

Though I'm also considering renting a scooter from Bally's just in case.

Free food and drinks sound good, maybe a few gaming systems too?  Ps3, 360, Wii, PC setups might be even better just for the plat pass use.

Can we get this in the schedule?  I'm sure folks would be willing to sacrifice a live quest or two for it!

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but the Lounge for VIP (which we have to show our badge to get in) is open from 3pm till 8pm but we can't pick up badges until 4pm that day?

Early Reg, is for the non-platinum people, remember part of the pass a seperate pass pick-up line, so it is entirly possable that you accually can pick-up your Plat Pass at the enterance to the Plat Pass Lounge.

Oh hell.  We have to trust our badges to the US Postal Service?  What if it never shows up?

I am a bit weary of the mail also.  I mean for people like me I am heading out that way at the end of July and spending some time over there.  Will our passes be at our houses before the 30th? what if we don't get it in the mail before we get there?  Will we have the option of picking it up out there if we don't get it for some reason before we arrive?
