So I realized as I was creating my Sarnak SK. That the only starting city I have is Neriak....and that it's the only starting city I can choose in an evil alignment. No other city was shown on the map except Neriak. I thought Neriak,Freeport and Gorowyn can be available as an evil race? Has there been a recent change to where you can start? |

Soe is requiring that everyone create their first toon with no choice. They have one good city, as well as one evil city, available to your first toon. However, after this toon is created and chooses a city, you can create a second toon and you will have a larger selection of starter cities. Soe has revamped some content, and believes that forcing new players to go to those cities means that they will have a better 'newbie' experience. If you want to bypass their restriction, just go ahead and make the toon, then make a second toon and select the city you want. Then you can delete the first toon without a problem. However, if this is your first toon, you may want to go ahead and accept the city, because the quests and everything will be designed to be easier for you. |

For toons after your first you will not have a choice to start in Freeport or Qeynos. Each alignment has the 2 choices. Evil: Neriak or Gorowyn Good: Halas or Kelethin |

Was there a reason why Freeport/Qeynos are not available as starting cities now, or was it just "because." |

They removed the Isle of Refuge (Queen's Colony/Outpost of the Overlord) because the powers that be felt those zones didn't offer a good enough new player experience. Rather than just doing as they have done currently with locking new players to the 2 prefered zones & allowing them to pick the other ones later, they just completely removed Qeynos & Freeport as starting cities. *the isle is still in game, just inaccessable unless you happen to have a character there still* |

LOL I miss that silly old isle... I actually did switch to Qeynos citizenship so I could do all the quests I was familiar with. I had to get the gnoll language so I could laugh at what those clowns said lol |
