![]() I have all the expansions but the last 2. I want to resub and use the mercs to lvl with as my highest lvl toon is 63. Seems most plp are far higher in lvl than that. In order for me to do this I need a total of $75.00.. $60.00 for the 2 expansions and another $15.00 for the gold account...really. I can pre order a new game for $60.00... I know SOE doesnt work for free, but it seems my cash is wiser spent getting something new. If I am wrong (i.e) the cost is lower than I think it is..please point it out to me. It just seems like SOE isnt really interested in getting some old players back. |

![]() If you want to buy straight from SOE (without waiting for one of their frequant promotions), yes. You might find better price on the web tho. I don't know your playtime/playstyle but there's no reason to buy DoV until you're 85+ in either adventuring or crafting and if you haven't mentioned mercs, AoD would be optional too. |

![]() The solution is quite simple put $15 into a month sub if you like the game as-is and you get some toons to the point where they could adventure in DoV then buy it if you can afford it with no obligation to purchase AoD. If cost is an issue (and you can still buy the xpacs through the ingame marketplace) wait till a double SC weekend and spend $30 worth of SC and buy both xpacs at the same time. |

![]() Since the use of mercs and overall cost are my main issues. Do you need all expacs before I can use AoD? Thanks for the pointers already given. I had no idea they had double sc weekends ect. |

Isn;t AOD a enhancement to DOV? Was under the impression unless you had DOV you could not get AOD.

Incorrect. DoV is not needed to purchase AoD. |

All expansions up to but not including Destiny of Velious are "free". DoV and AoD can be purchased independently of each other.

It's also worth mentioning that there's plenty of soloable content, plus the f2p aspect, so you could just start playing without any invesment at all. If you like what you see you can decide when/if to upgrade to gold sub, AoD and DoV.

![]() Checking Amazon.com, there's copies of DOV for around $25, and Priceblink thinks that's the current lowest price. HOWEVER, if you look in the clearance areas of your "big box" stores that carry games, a title such as Destiny of Velious can be marked down to $10 or less. Small game stores also put older stuff on clearance, and it's worth checking into.
