Colossal Reactants: why arn't they dropping in Skyshrine?

Colossal don't drop in DoV because they only drop in "The most difficult zones in the game." Instead you get Momentus Reactants unless you do Drunder instances.

Now we're doing Skyshrine which is definately more difficult than DoV. Instead of getting Colossal reactants we get body parts from various named mobs. Not saying that the body parts arn't welcome but shouldn't we get Colossal reactants from more than outdated content that nobody in their right mind will touch?

Either make colossal reactants available in all Skyshrine instances, or all the other 90 instances. Considering what can be made with colossal reactants they would be a fabled reward for SF+ instances (including the scaling TSO style dungeons), or they would be more "fabled junk" in the SS instances and contested zone. Either way, with them dropping only in Drunder the only supply of them will come from crafters. There isn't any reason to do Drunder heroic content.

The collossal gear isn't as good as the gear that is dropping in the skyshrine instances. It wouldn't really make sense.

Because you get the mats for the lv 92 gear in SS maybe just a thought.

Well, it makes sense from the perspective of what Dev said when colossals were introduced. Colossals were for the "hardest of the T9 instances". That was Drunder. Now we've got harder than drunder (for heroic content), shouldn't the Skyshrine zones have colossal drops too?

As it stands, the only source for colossals has narrowed down to what we get from doing the crafting dailies. Who is going to do drunder? The legendary gear isn't as good as trash drops from Skyshrine. If your going to twink your toons are you going to cruise throug Kael picking up much more common gems or spend the extra time trying to farm up colossal reactants from Drunder? The answer is: neither. Your twink will suffer along in Thurgadin gear until he can hit 92 and you unload a bunch of 92 gear on him.

Mainly my point is it feels like the first apprentice has been abandoned in favor of the new skyshrine crafting. Even though you get better from skyshrine contested drops, I still think colossals have a place if the supply goes up. Right now, the supply is so small the only business for colossals is BPs.

if these things started dropping in skyshrine I'd be pretty mad with that.

last thing I want to see in a exquisite chest is gear thats useless, from a pattern that was good 6 months ago.

if they want to make new reactant gear - and they should.... then they need a new reactant for 92.

No need to burn up a percentage of a slot with an item that while is monetarily valuable, but not valuable in terms of progression. Perhaps it would make more sense to replace the other DoV 1 raid craft components with appropriate reactants -- eg the Globe of Coalescing of Shadows, Shard of Magic, Remnant of Rage, and Aspect of War. Perhaps not. But if anywhere was appropriate this would be my first thought. In recipes for slots covered by the old components that to this point were not covered by the collassal, something would be shoehorned appropriately to the collassal to allow items for those slots to be made with the collassal. The side benifit is it collapses what seems to be a fairly fragmented recipe list, and might actually improve the relevance of older areas to a small degree.

Yeah just give it a chance to drop in the other DoV zones seems easy enough to me, or give them a chance to drop in the solo instances in SS. Both of those seem to be a good idea . . . I also think that in those solo zones should give a chance to drop the current SS apprentice materials.

actually I compared my collosal bp to teh 'dozekar head' bp...and I wouldn't trade in the collosal for it. now if there's a better bp to be had from non-raiding...then let me know.
