Ingame mail behaving funny? Attached items replaced with message from another server

Hey,

Has anyone noticed a bug with the mail today? I sent about 100 items by mail to a number of my alts and some messages received make no sense and I lost my attachments (probably about 20 total).

They received a message with the subject being the item name but instead of an item being sent, the item was simply lost and instead they all contain the same message which says :

'Rodecia who is a returning player please all make them feel at home '

That is someone on another server according to the search... so my question is, where did all my items go!?

(I did a /bug but I can't petition, that just gives me an error message Edit: Oops, a guildmate informed me I can petition on the internet instead of the ingame one).

I have one character who's initial "Welcome to Everquest II" email has the text of a plat seller message instead.

Several weeks ago I found that a Welcome and a Nights of the Dead message were replaced by some internal message from a quild leader to their officers and some wierd confession that the sender might well not have wanted going public.

Luckily, I have no idea who the senders were (though I might just not have looked carefully enough)

I had items in my mail, that were replaced by Mara Elixer, Nights of the Dead quest starters, freshcut roses, even shinys and collectable,, and a few peices of treasured crap that I know was not there a couple days ago.

Hey. It's the new goblin lotto. Buy a bunch of cheap stuff off the broker, mail it to alts, and see if you get some entertainment or items.

You guys made me go check the mail on all my toons. Nothing weird there but I did remove all my attachments that I could just to be on the safe side.

I mailed some dusts from one of my toons to another. When I picked them up, they had turned into Holiday Quest item starters. Hows that for funky!

Right now in fact, a GM asked to me log off so he (I assume) could fix it.

I encountered so many bugs today. The morphing mail was the just start.

I had a funky message today too. It was a letter from an alt with a shiny attached that I mailed myself, which was originally blank but now has a message in it that I did not write.

Only weird thing that happened yesterday, was that my log-in screen was in polish or something? Aparantly 'jugand' means 'play'... so now I know that!

I'm also getting the unable to receive gifts error when I try to take items that have been mailed to me. Is this happening to anyone else?

The only time I get that message is when something is labeled lore and I already have one somewhere. I have some items in my mail that I can't get out for that reason.

Wow, it's much worse than I first noticed. Mail is messed up on almost all my toons. I've gotten messages that say they are from SOE but with random private mail from unknown people, mail from NPC's with plushies in them, holiday items, and I got one really nice Legendary bracelet. Even old mail that has long since been read but never deleted is affected. It's like random headers matched with random text bodies matched with random items. Nice job SOE.

I had a mail saved in my inbox from -years- ago from a dear friend of mine who lost her battle with cancer about 6 months ago.

The words in it (which were a very sweet thank you and I'll miss you) were replaced with plat seller spam, even though the message subject and the sender remained from the original. I was heartbroken and disgusted and deleted it.

This new mail system sucks and I'm not surprised it was implemented like the giant pile of steaming crap it is. Thanks, SoE.

And on the flip side, I've not had anything weird at all happening with my mail. I'll try sending some stuff today and see what happens. But over the last few days, it's all been normal.

A few weeks back we had 1 guy on a guild plat split have the mail with the right title and sender but no plat and a message about some guild matters about a guild we'd never even heard of and probably wasn't even on the same server.

I got this message today and the items were food and drink, so again not lore. This is a very annoying bug!

my mail got corrupted also, on more than one character. The Sender name and title is correct but the body message gets replaced with either errolissi event ad along with the red rose or some random guild message that was send to all guildies

what is even more odd the errolissi messages have a name of a character and each of those mails doenst even show my character name or any of my alts, just random people.

one of mails was from my main and it was the reforging summons, couldn't even pick it up as I already had one

I don't want any more red roses or random junk, I want the original items that were sent to me

btw I bugged it, hope this gets resolved soon

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the mail. It did everything it should have done and nothing it didn't need to do. Then someone decided to fix it until it broke.

Noticed issues with hte mail myself. A templated message that I use for my guild got replaced by the junk "Welcome to EQ2" message in the message content.

Like others, the sender and subject were correct, but the actual message body was replaced and incorrect.

I had mailed my husband's little alts a bunch of legendary gear a week or so ago, and he just got around t checking it yesterday. They were all replaced by the Erollisi Day rose mails. He submitted a ticket and got his items from a GM.

Thanks for posting this thread so I know this wasn't a one-shot bug. I'll be sure not to mail anybody anything for a while.
