There has been no meaningful update beyond the initial statement that there were ongoing negotiations over the removal of the region locking, with the intention being that all players would be able to play on any server. However, no details have been provided, and the main issue relating to the principle of having to deal with PSS1 is unresolved and everything is far from ok with mass cancellations still occurring.

The announcements, such as they are, can be found in the Announcements section, not the Community News section.

Sorry, Donny.  I wish there was something positive to send your way.  We are still being stonewalled like we were (almost) 3 months ago when this all began.  This thread has almost 3,000 posts and nothing substantive has come from SJ, Holly, Smedley, or any other person in power who should be properly addressing this.  Nothing.

As you can imagine, people are cancelling, have cancelled, or have their fingers hovering over that button.  No amount of communication on our part is making any difference.  The message we do get is always a wordy, patronizing "we care about our community and we're listening".  I think you can imagine how well that is going.

You should read back at least 5 pages.  There are some well thought out posts that will give you some idea of where the community is right now as a whole.

WE got nothing, zilch, nada,  we still have zero information on what they are going to do one way or the other.

Oh yes, everything is wonderfully fine if you consider losing most of your player population from splitpaw outstanding news. And lets not forget the wonderful way SOE handled this whole mess with the here is what we are shoving down your throats manuever. Followed in behind a veil of oh "we are working on fixing this" I am sure this is going to be followed by the aptly named "Self destruct" message that this thing is going through and then we can watch ALL the pretty lights lit up in the sky or as we call them "SOE's customer base" oh wait, that's already happening pardon me lol.

Sounds like a solid ratings winner...

well it actually is. lots of people in germany watched the first one ( 10 million / 31% rating ) and the second onehad 8 million people watching ( i didnt watch either of it )~

Got to laugh at some of the responses on here

Clearly SOE are the worst company in the world apart from PSS1. Clearly we hate SOE so much we are unwilling to move to PSS1.

My own feeling is that despite the shortcomings of SOE, EQ2 without SOE is like ZZ top without beards. Even with all the hamfisted decisions over the years. Playing EQ2 with PSS1 just doesnt feel right.

SOE is like that lumbering big brother/sidekick that blunders through and never seems to get anything right but the game isnt the same without them. Like the bug ugly giant guy from the Goonies.

I was wondering.  Where are all the EU fanboi posts about how awesome this transition is going to be?

I was looking forward to reading their drivel as always.

I don't think there ARE any "EU fanbois" are there? I think we've spent far too long being treated appallingly by SOE to be under any illusions. Normally its EU players feeling agrieved and US players telling us to just deal with it cos they're not affected so we're obviously being unreasonable.

Of course I might be mistaken, please feel free to post lots of links showing EU players posting "their drivel as always"

I was shooting mainly to jab at the fanbois in general, but let's go with your statement.  Perfectly reasonable to assume a 0% population of fanbois in Europe.

I don't know why you feel that people that persist in trying to see both sides of an argument are "fanbois", as you term them.   Perfectly reasonable to assume that everyone that doesn't agree with you must be on the far end of the spectrum.

I generally make posts that attempt to look at the other side of things even when many posts are positive.  However, since the presence on the forum largely consists of negatively oriented individuals, the bulk of my posts tend to be positive toward SOE.  It isn't that I think SOE can do no wrong, it is that while trying to view the other side of the argument, I end up being put in the role of defender.

This thread is an exception.  I think that SOE really needs to rethink its position on the P7S.1 matter.

Of course, you can use whatever terminology that you choose.  You can say that a dirt clod is an apple pie a la mode, but pardon me if I don't drop by for dessert.

I have not seen any euro fanboys positive comments  here concerning this transition, deal, transformation and whatever will come out off it? Maybe you want to move your "drivel" to another forum?

Storm has never been so empty. The alaplya had a very negative impact on the server health.

May be SOE should consider a commercial operation to get back people who left. I m not sure that it will work since departures were caused by major game issues and the deal was only the last drop in the bucket.

Tbh, for me it's more a habit then an addiction these days.

I log in to raid, then log off, cuz there is nothing in eq2 besides raiding and having some fun with my guildies.

I used to spend a lot of time crafting, but since some of the recepies i craft to sell have dissapeared from the knowledgebooks of various toons i just don't see the point in even trying anymore.

Just a matter of time before i kick the habbit, this bussiness with p7s1 might do the trick. Im not going to make a paying account with them, maybe if it's possible i'll go f2p but they won't get my creditcard info.

They want the EU servers off their hands or dead. No real preference. No other explaination seems possible-

I guess a fair amount of this is about trust and openess.  Of course when an organization is owned by a parent organization you'd expect the parent orgization to lead by example.  When this doesn't happen you get stuff like the News Corporation and News International scandal.

With this in mind how does it make us customers feel when the parent organization of SOE is only just annoucing something that happend just after the major network hack they suffered in April last year.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/17256870

So if there is a problem with the security of our information when it's transferred to PSS1 how likely is it we'll be told in a timely manner?

Fanboism is nothing more than naivete at best and idiocy at worst.  Given the people defending those with that stance, I'd say I found those non-existent fanbois.

How are you guys liking SOE now?  Ha.

Just give it time. SOE will "come for" them too eventually and then they will slap their foreheads and ask themselves how they could have been so blind.

Still have to ask to get answers to our Questions. It was said we would get an update on Monday. 2nd Monday since then.Even if these things will happen in a few month. like we say: "the cat is out of the sack"we need information to decide what we will do. waiting does not favor those things to your side.Following questions are still open. It is in our all interest to answer them asap.Waiting means, we lose intrest cause nothing what is archived in game or you present to us is safe in our eyes.Wainting means, you lose customers.

So please answer this.1. will it be possible after the servers are in PSS1 hands to make a charakter transfers from EU to US Servers, from US to EU, or only from EU to EU Servers ?2. will it still be possible to chat via tell with my friends on other EU and US servers ?3. will i be able to access the world wide chat channels ? Most worldwide class disscussion channels are located on a singel server.4. will i have to pay both ayaplaya and SOE is i want to have acces to my chars on US and EU servers ?5. will there be a free server transfer for my chars if i want to flee from the EU servers to US servers ?6. If i decide to stay with SOE, will i be able to create new chars on US servers ? Or only on servers where i have already chars ? Or will i am not be able to create new chars on US servers.7. will i be able to use charakter transfers beetween US servers as a EU inhabitant once i have tranfered them to US servers.8. I once payed for the EQ2Players Services, these things are now back only for a short time. Will EU players now be excluded from the US EQPlayer Data or the Data Stream that is for example accessable via EQU.If PSS1 have there own platform and all that has been developed hard over the past years to get EQ2Player back to work is none existant for me on an EU server ?9. will the IP Locks in what direktion ever stay and lock US and EU from playing together ?10. will have PSS1 have the right to change game conntent for example to push marketing and selling stuff through their upcomming Ingame Store (SC clone, AP or whatever it will be called). Their have been rumors/reports that they have done so in other games(e.g. http://mmohuts.com/editorials/alapl...comment-page-1)11. will pss1 have the right to decide to sell gear that is not for lookslot or fluff in their ingame store ? (eg. Legendary, mastercrafted, fabled gear ) like it was on Freeport EQ2X when it started.12. What about people who have put tons of money in LoN Cards or Lootcards. Will this be accessable from the future EU Servers ? will EU customers still get the 5 Packs per month as a EQ2 subscriber ?

Another week, another round of silence.  Or at best news that is not news  SMILEY

So we are told we can play together still or they are working on it.   If it means Alaplaya or two payments nope that won't work for me.  There are other games.  Guess I'll check back next week.
