Not a crafter but Domino gave that area of the game a polish rarely matched in any MMO her leaving will be a huge loss to the game.

I hope she's off to a company that will give her the tools and the platform to shine again

Goodbye Domino, your hard work on the crafting in the game was awesome....even the little brat in Mara. Whoever you have gone to has gained an asset to the game.

Once you left tradeskills sad to say you seemed to fall off the radar, but you'll always be remembered for all the hard work and interaction with the community, and infamously for giving us Qho! I don't do Facebook or Twitter so will probably never know the reason for your sudden departure, but a heartfelt wish for happiness in all you do!

Sad times we play in and coming on the heels of the "agreement" fiasco is a double whammy to the community...doubt very much SOE will be able to find a replacement for you....you were one of the last Dev's who cared enough to respond even after you were promoted and cared about the concerns of the community...sad to see you leave...

Sad times indeed.

Goodbye Domino...

In my true honest opinion you did more than anyone else in the history of EQ2 to live up to the promise to players to make the crafter professions of the game as viable and interersting as the adventure professions.

No other MMO can cast a shadow on the richness of crafting and tradeskilling professions that you brought to EQ2. Wherever you go, I hope they realize they have hired a true player-oriented game changer.

We will sorely miss you...we have been ever since your promotion away from us. The silence and void left behind truly dismaying.

So, however it came about that you had to leave the game, hold your head up high and with great pride in what you've done for us tradeskillers. When it comes to tradeskilling in EQ2 you practically singlehandedly created the best experience in MMO history. I'm not saying that out of emotion, but hard stonecold belief.

I am very sorry to see you leave, Domino.  I know many of the developers of EQ2 in the past have been good but I truly feel your reworking of the abysmal tradeskill system was the most memorable.  Your influence can still be felt in crafting as well as housing and you alone escalated those two areas into the best versions in any existing MMO hands down.  You provided communication in a time where it was almost nonexistant and you always kept us informed.  The EQ2 community will miss you dearly and I know you will be a success in whatever you do next.

Just out of curiosity, though:

Are you leaving just EQ2 or SOE all togher?  PLEASE tell me your at least going to EQNext! SMILEY

Most logical conclusion is that the net effect on Norrath is the same.  I have yet to see any indication she has left SoE.  This version of Norrath is less bright, but another version just got a bit brighter.

Truly saddened at this news.  Thanks to you tradeskilling turned from something I found excreable to something that was worth doing - to the extent I levelled 9 toons to 90 and put them all through the shawl questline.

What impressed most was your genuine desire to connect with the playerbase and communicate with them to learn what they wanted, what they liked and what they didn't - traits that are found to be missing in others and will be sorely missed in the days ahead.

Thank you Domino, I will miss you and if I ever return to the game after the P7S fiasco I will be renaming my GH writ NPC after you in tribute for everything magical you did for tradeskilling in Norrath.

/hugs

My sentiments exactly. Domino was a leader as well as a great designer, and this rare talent showed in the finished work.

I know she will do well wherever she lands. That's just in her nature. Whoever got her has one of the bright lights in MMORPG design and execution. Whatever she works on will be worth seeing.

Domino, you will be sorely missed.  Bona fortuna--you will do well wherever you go, but we are all the poorer for it.

Domino, at the risk of being repetitive, you will be EXTREMELY MISSED.  You made the creative side of the game...for those of us that don't raid SMILEY ...a wonderful experience.  Whoever snaps you up will be VERY VERY LUCKY indeed SMILEY  Godspeed SMILEY

I read that too, but its only the title of the fan site's author.  In her actual tweet it says "leaving EQ2".  I was hoping that there was an official thread incoming about how she was being moved to EQNext but its been quite a few hours since the announcement so I am starting to think she did leave SOE.  That being said, there is nothing in the actual message written by her that says she left SOE for sure.  Guess we will find out sooner or later.

Thanks for the good wishes & link - can't post on forums any more but the good thoughts are appreciated and the <3 returned!

(Just in case anybody isn't watching her Twitter and wanted to know. SMILEY )

Bah, they could have at least given her the ability to post something one last time.

Well, take care DOmino!  My only level 90 crafter thanks you! /eyetwitch
