The station cash nightmare wings ground run animation used to give the appearance of long strides.  Step per distance was slower.

After todays patch I no longer glide further with the same number of steps but I look like I'm moving at hyperspeed stepping!

If this was accidental, I'm letting you know it's goofy.

If it was deliberate, change it back.

I was just saying something about that and its annoying.

Pretty sure it's intentional.

Doesn't mean unnatural hyperspeed running isn't annoying. :/

It's no different from running around with hide mount turned on.

Its hard coded on mounts to give that speed boost, ground speed is 75% faster.

Do our legs have to look like we're the road runner because of the code?  We transversed the same distance before but didn't pump our legs like that.

I'm not really clear why it was changed to toggle 'grount mount' status when grounded for wings to begin with.  When I fall a distance in the city I'm still taking damage ( mechanics people not art people issue I know) which is something worth changing.

If it's hard coded how bout we get something 'bonus' with unnatural speed in EQ2?

Like say:

I'm not the biggest fan of the graphics of that game but can't we get a 'blur' from a Baldur's Gate (Black Isle) looking effect if we have to move our legs so fast?

I'd settle for the 'puff' going on above if the others are outside your subset's realm of control.

We're not complaining about the speed.

We ARE complaining about the rapid leg movements. I look like the roadrunner from the old warner bros cartoons.

And I don't hide mounts outside combat for this exact reason. You can't hide flying mounts outside combat ANYWAYS.

I want the old run animation back. It was slower and less aggravating.

Or at the least the fae "levitate" type movement. It doesn't look like I'm running at hyperspeed.

I prefer the longer strides that we originally had when using the wings. The speed was the same but our legs were not going zippity-zip.

This would be a great example of how a TARGETED in game poll would be great.

Any character that bought these wings before the change receives a poll email.

The poll asks if like, don't care, or hate the new hyperstepping.

That way Devs don't have to interpret that 'most' people 'feel' what the few posters on the forums say.

They'd know.

Maybe you didn't have "hide mounts" on before the wings came, but I did.  This isn't a new change, this is what running looked liked before the wings.

I don't mind it, personally, because I'm used to it.  I prefer it to Strep running around like a linebacker, the way she was before the wing change came in.  Matter of preference, I guess.

Gonna be honest, it looks stupid to have wings on your back and running like that. Especially when they kinda sit there like plastic lumps that don't move.

I thought it was me, but ya, something did change to the way you run now with the wings. It usually happens just after the fight has ended, you are stuck in this really funny running/scamper/highonsomething animation. Im trying to post a video on it but no idea why its taking forever to upload.

Not broke....fixed.  This is how I always looked before, since I had appearance wings on prior to the wings that let us fly it lookes perfectly normal to meSMILEY   That long stride looked entirely inappropriate to meSMILEY  You are right though, about the wings being a bit plastic, unlike the flexibility that my wings of valor have.  I also think they should remain on in areas that don't allow other mounts.

I love the wings and  thanks guys!

LOL.  Well that old saying a picture is worth a thousand words is proven here.   That running after the fight is just plain weird.

BUWAHAHA! That was hella funny. My friend was commenting on her running while we were hunting last night and I couldn't see it myself but now I see what she was seeing. I'll havbe to tell her that yes, it is pretty messed up. LOL

That video does show some crazy running that is obviously broken but I think the rest of us are mainly talking about the pre vs post update run glide vs leg pumping.

Animation in that video is borked separately from the main point that you are running in that video pre-fight instead of gliding like you did before the update.

It's done this to me too, when coming out of the water in the hallway at the entrance of Hall of Legends.

Can I assume this does not happen every fight?  Because I have not seen this yet and use the wings.  It that looks like what happens when you are attacking while the mob dies.  I normally see it when you are using a bow and you get stuck leaning to one side until the next fight.

Bahaha, yes, this is exactly what I am seeing! I liked how I ran before the wings, got used to the new running when I bought the wings, and either of those would be preferable to randomly going into this whatever-it-is. It looks especially ridiculous on my female barbarian, as I can clearly see she is trying to do her sashaying walk animaton, but at 1000% speed. So her hips and bum cheeks are just sort flopping/bobbling from side to side as the rest of her has a barely-controlled seizure, clearly evidenced by the wings stuck out straight from her back in some sort of rictus. Also, she can no longer just walk. Instead, when I toggle run to walk, I get a very nice run animation at the walking speed, instead of her sashay. But by far the issues with running are the more bothersome of the two.

Funny is a female kerra with wings running after the fight.  My poor female kerra runs similar to the video only her wings stay closed and flap back and forth.  She runs with her legs crossed and it looks like she's gotta go to the bathroom really really really bad with a stick stuck up her you know where.

I found that if it does that, stopping then starting to run again it takes care of the problem.

I came across this too--it happens every time I get out of water deep enough to make my wings "disappear" (ie. dismount).

Speaking of disappearing wings...sure would love a cloak version of the mount wings so they never do disappear...

Bump for the awesome suggestion again.

Also, it does it for female ogres, the leg crossed walking.

What I think is happening is you are coming out of combat_idle and it may be wanting to go into the state combat_walk which transitions into combat_run or run. The vdl for the wings has combat_idle and run so for some reason it's locking you into the walking animation but playing at the run speed.

My suggestion for these wings is instead of making us run around at mach 80, to give people wearing the wings the same ground-glide animation that Fae/Arasai have.   I have to imagine the code's already in place, and it'd just plain look better than zooming around with roadrunner legs.  Just a suggestion SMILEY
