Doesn't work for me.  Is it unavailable now or borked?  I go to select where I want to go, my mount disappears, and then nothing happens.

That's because it's not a real Taxi Stand, can not fly to it from any of the other stands either

IMO it was just put in for those who couldn't be bothered to either leg it or run up the road to the ANT Taxi Stand (if you look at the map, the Dock Stand isn't even listed)

Same thing that happened to the darklight station in nek for a while. They broke it.

Hopefully they keep them broke and take them out altogether, same with the extra Pony Express stations in GFay and the Taxi stand on BB Docks so you don't have to climb or run up the beach

What exactly wrong with the taxi's? They're great for lowbies.

@ DrkVsr, I ran the zone back when you had to find the griffon eggs and have since fully explored the entire zone.  I do not feel a need to run from one side to the other if I don't have to.  And it used to work just fine.

Yeah, ah'm mad that new players just have everything handed to them and don't even have to unlock the privilege of using them, ah'm mad that people feel they should have instant transportation to anywhere they want because "going overland manually is sooo boring and takes too long", SOE gave all mounts huge doses of steroids so even the lvl 20 crusader mount is now 130% run speed but "that's not good enough, it needs to be 200% with lazers that kill anything in front of them with turbos to go even faster"

Ah don't have a problem with the Taxi's that were already in place, but they didn't even make an effort to justify the TS Dock/DLW stands (at least to mah knowledge there was no ingame world-wide events to have people construct them)

Before you had the actual boats in TS/Nek that took you to BB people complained that you never had boats, when they did put them in people complained because you had to wait up to 5-10 minutes for the boat, the same people complained about having to wait up to 5 minutes for the spires to work

I remember 45+ minute boat rides in EQ1.

The days of patience is gone...

Everyone is so ADHD and spoiled nowadays.

Zack Tilly, Mohee, mahbard in EQ1 discovered the icebreaker boat to Velious by accident (he used the old one-way portal from SQ to The Feerott once and decided to take the oppotunity to run home and explore on the way) and ah would run from one side of the boat to the other looking at what the boat was passing by/through, and even though only used the boat once (twice if you count the return trip) ah'm pretty sure ah would have done the same thing every time, or took the time to go through mah packs or read up on quests or stuff you would normally do in a similar situation (he managed to get as far as the old crossroads checkpoint in WCL before he went to say 'hi' to a dark elf to the south, totally forgetting ah was playing mah male human bard from Qeynos and not mah usual female DESK from Neriak SMILEY)

Ah have no problem with having the Taxis and Pony Express (ah use them at times, specially in a hostile red-zone ah don't know and need to get somewhere safely, like in LP attempting to do the 4th Inny Diety quest at 5SMILEY, but ah feel they should at least be justified in being there and having to find them first (like with the Taxis in BB, and the PEs in GFay/LFay and the druid rings). You want to take the shortcut? Fine, you just have to find it first

Waiting around doing nothing for a significant period of time while traveling is dumb game design.  Make people do something constructuve to accomplish the task, or remove the delay.

I really dislike how half-arsed many of the new transportation systems are, but understand why they are there.  The griffon sitting on the ground at the docks is awful.  The horse stations in the Feerrott are awful.  These in particular are so bad that I would seriously consider removing them because they are such an eyesore.  Considering that there faster mounts now, they aren't needed so much.  The Feerrott system is so convoluted that it is pretty much faster to leap anywhere rather than use the horses anyway.

Let me translate: griffons and horses are too slow, make them all like the clouds in kingdom of sky, instant teleports.

Why bother?  Should just have popup maps you can click on the specific coordinates in any zone you want to reach and just appear there.  Of course the casting delay would have to be removed, or people would complain that it's too long.

To me, the Taxis/PEs are, and should be, a convenience, not a neccessity, and you should still have to unlock them to prove that you have the earned the right to use them

Unlike a lot of people, ah fully understand that ah'm just a very tiny minority (like how ah play the game in general: V`Wak is mah first and main character, she's been around since E-Day 05 and still only lvl 58 ), ah only use the 'ez-mode' transports when there is no alternative (due to time-restraints, usually self-induced because put it off for so long) or for convenience (can easily run across CL but will use the Taxi if ah'm attempting to get all the new New Freeport quests done in a single day), while ah don't like having the buzzard just plonked on the beach in TS without even the trainer saying "Hey, it was decided to send me here because of the problems getting to the Ant Station" (and hope they would either be 'fixed' with a proper tower or removed altogether) ah don't expect mah voice to be heard or even taken note of and continue to play the game mah way (during the Brew Day quests, mah baby bugs have to run past the bears and gnolls to get to the TS Village, if the Dockside Taxi was in place at that time, would they have used it? snot no, where would the fun be of running drunk past red mobs?)

Heh, looks like it turned into a huge rant

Just went to New Halas the old fashioned way (zoned to Goro, took the Taxi to BB, then again to Frostfang) but unfortunately for mah gnecro she got dumped into the ocean both times, fortunately mah frog and evil bug managed to stay onboard the whole time (but didn't risk the frog getting dumped into Frostfang Sea as ah have no idea how far down the bottom is, or even if there is a bottom, because he has the froggie ability to walk under water)

Just tried it on mah main, and she too was dumped in the ocean and had to swim for land

might as well just give people a /warp command and /zone.

It's almost to that point anyways.

Gone are the days of roleplay~

and as I said before, people nowadays can't wait for anything because they're all super ADHD youngters who can't sit still for longer than two seconds without twitching.

Though I am not "mad" about it, I agree with the sentiment here.  New players ARE having things handed to them.  When I started playing back in 2006, it was run everywhere, use the boat, do the quests for the griffon eggs to even USE the stations.  Nowadays, people don't even know those quests exists.

Took me and hubby months to get the plat saved up in order to buy the 2-3 plat mount.  We were so proud when we finally earned them.

I recall the boat between Butcherblock and Freeport was only around 15 minutes.

Then of course they eventually gave up on trying to keep the boats running and put in translocators.

Some of the boats still actually work.. But you have to actually sit there and wait for it.. for like.. forever. SMILEY

Standing on a boat and traveling across a zone with mobs blocking the path between point A and point B are two different things entirely.  If you have trouble grasping the difference, then that is because you have trouble recognizing that everything isn't black and white.

Travelling was a pain in the rear before. Now it makes for smoother gameplay. There's not a lot more frustrating knowing that you have a group waiting for you on the other side of a massed gauntlet of heroic mobs and having to decline the grp because there's no way to make it through.

Look at Loping Plains...since they added the mounts the place actually has people in it now. Before there were such a stupid amount of mobs that just getting from A to B was like an entire night...

Travelling is tedious, especially if your having to wait for someone to complete a group
