I know there was a lot of discussion about the Beastlords being scouts, being monks, etc. But since the end decision was a scout class I am curious as to whether the following are oddities, oversights and are intended or not.

  • Was able to use poisons on the Beastlord at low levels but no longer. Not sure it the lower level usage is a bug or its absence at higher levels is.
  • The only scout class unable to equip bows and use arrows in favor or thrown weapons
  • Disarm Trap is a missing ability which seems somewhat class defining for scouts along with tracking

The only low level poisons were the merchant bought ones which u can buy on the TS docks, I never looked for higher level ones after that. Any alchemist NPC shud sell them. Player made ones currently cannot be used so it looks to me like something they forgot.

Safefall was missing along with Disarm in the beginning but I noticed it got added in a day or 2 after I noticed it. I also submitted all this as feedback from within game when I noticed they were not there from about level 5 on the day of release.

I did notice the bow thing but decided that was deliberate as it was inline with brawlers.

Poisons were not intended to work.  This was stated in beta and was bugged with some merchant poisons, but crafted ones had no BL on them for weeks.

BLs can't use bows because they're Monk/Shaman hybrids in EQ1 and they wished to have that flavor if not exact typing in EQ2.

Disarm was something that made no sense to most of us but was never added to BLs.  I'm pretty sure safe fall was always there, I don't know if I got any the first few days but I tend not to runn of ledges on purpose often.

One thing i noticed, and i think it was an oversight, was that the Deflection skill wasn't added to the class.   Our Reptile pet gives a deflection bonus as well as our Defensive/Spiritual stance.

But when you examine your beastlords skills you'll see that the Deflection skill wasn't added.    Unlike a Bruiser/Monk who both have deflection skills and skill ups.     I suppose it could be a tooltip error on our defensive stance etc. but im more inclined to think that we were intended to have Deflection avoidance.

i posted about this a few days ago not even a response, only reason i noticed is my avoidance was in the low 20% range in spirit stance
