  • Were you grouping, solo, or raiding?  Solo
  • What zone were you in?  Kethelen and G Fay
  • What level is your character? 37
  • What race is your character? High Elf
  • Was your character in an illusion form? No
  • What performance profile is the game set as? (High Quality, Balanced, etc.) Custom ( Been playing with it to try and find a solution. Haven't found one yet).
  • What is the screen resolution that you have the game set to?
  • Was it Windowed mode or Full Screen? Windowed
  • Are you running Fraps or a movie/music player on the same computer? No
  • My computer is older, it's a Home 32-Bit SP3 is running on Windows XP with a 256 MB RADEON 9600 and a B91D D-SUB(1280x1024@60Hz) graphics cards. with 756 MB DDR @ 200 MHz RAM. But has never had a problem with any high rez game before now. I am able to log in with my pally and run around the zone for a while but then before I can do anything I get the error. Is there a trick on how I can fix this. I've been turning down the texture, playing on window mode, turned down the details option on custom. I was able to play in the thundering steppes on my templar with no problem. Any mods on or tech that can help?

The above information will help track this issue further with the new changes that the development team is implementing to the game client.  Thanks for your patience and assistance in working to resolve this issue!

So it seems this issue has not been fixed in years and I do alright for awhile and then boom someone "FIXES" something and back to the out of memory crashes again.....this is the only game it does this too so don't say it is my machine and the fact that it is a new machine and it does it to another machine in my house that doesn't have the same hardware or OS.

    my machine

    4gb ram

intel core 2 duo cpu e7300 2.66 ghz 2.7 ghz

  • What level is your character? 11
  • What race is your character? Froglok
  • Was your character in an illusion form? No
  • What performance profile is the game set as? (High Quality, Balanced, etc.) Balanced
  • What is the screen resolution that you have the game set to? Various.
  • Was it Windowed mode or Full Screen? Both
  • Are you running Fraps or a movie/music player on the same computer? Not at the same time
  • I've already put in a bug report in-game. My stats are:
    OS: Windows XP
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T830, 2.4GHz
    RAM: 2GB
    GPU: ATI Mobility FireGL V5600
The game crashing cause my computer to crash and requires a hard reboot. In addition, the minimization trick another poster mentioned occasionally fails to work. Given that this bug has been going on for several years without resolution, and that, at least in my case, it prevents me from playing the game I paid for, I believe that refunds may be in order.

Include your DXDIAG information, top 3 sections only (will fit in 1 post) system/display/sound devices.

This only started for me when I joined a guild on AB and tried to go into one of the buildings in the guild hall.  Now I can't log in at all without the "Application ran out of memory" message.   How can I get my toon moved out of the guild hall so I can log in and play again?

Update:  These steps provided earlier in this thread fixed this issue for me.

So for Vista x86 and Windows 7 x86 the command is as follows:

    1. run cmd.exe with admin rights

    2. enter BCDEDIT /Set IncreaseUserVA 3072

    3. reboot

Not entirely sure what the purpose of this thread is.  I can see a red name is reading it, but I don't see anyone getting any help.  At least not on this page, and I don't want to read 30 pages dating back to 2008.  I'll answer the basic questions below, and I'll try to get the dxdiag info when I get home.  But here's my situation.  It started last night, the first day of the freeport reborn / age of discovery release.  I raided with no issues.  Mid fight in the first zone, I bought the expansion with station cash.  We hit 2 raid zones and I went to the guild hall between each zone.  After the raid, I switched toons once, and when i tried to switch again, I got 5 or 6 of these popup boxes at once.  It happened after I had logged in and after the entity resources were loaded.  Basically I saw the guild chat message saying I had logged in and that was it.  I had to force the game to shut down becuase after clicking OK on the first error box, none of the others would respond.  I restarted the computer, restarted the game, tried to log into another toon and got the same error boxes.  They pop up right after the welcome screen.  I tried to restart the game 3 or 4 times and tried 3 different toons with the exact same results.

Kerran / dwarfWas your character in an illusion form? One might have been shrunk from the billy doll, one was  a mystic inbear form, and probably no illusion on the third, but illusions are turned off on all of them.  What performance profile is the game set as? (High Quality, Balanced, etc.) Custom.  Pretty close to balanced, but I turn off particle effects.  What is the screen resolution that you have the game set to? 1280x1024Was it Windowed mode or Full Screen? Tried windowed mode and still crashing. Not sure if this is any help but crashes occur between 18 and 40 minutes of playtime. So far all my playing has been in the new Freeport.

Running into this issue as well my main and few alts in guild at 75% of loading entities mass memory errors crashing them so they are essentially sitting in gh twiddling their thumbs same for 2 other alts while zoning into their homes, one of which was "fixed" when I rebooted the game.  Seems to be an issue with housing both personal and guild however other alts are fine so go figure..guess raid tonight is going to be without me unless i can resolve this.

This isn't being tracked anymore from here, we'll handle memory issues on a case by case basis.   I do recommend contacting our support staff directly but we do have some ongoing discussions on the memory issues in the Performance Support board.  I am locking this thread and unsticking it.
