New Launcher and Station Launcher

Hi,

I was just wondering when the Station Launcher will upgrade to the New Launcher? I saw that it was released today and see people in the channels saying that they got upgraded yet I have re-run my Station Launcher multiple times and it has not upgraded anything. When I Check for Updates from the launcher it says that I have the most recent version.

No update and still no new launcher when I run my launcher.

When I check for updates this is what I get :

You are currently running the most recent version of Station Launcher ( Version: 1.1.12, Build: 1.1.12.1075273 - Release ).

Station Launcher is no longer supported. My testing plus what I've read on the forums says that you'll have to install LP4 by running the newest setup program because LP1 and Station Launcher don't trigger an automatic LaunchPad upgrade.

Personally, I will continue to use Station Launcher until LP4 works better and has Launcher's features.

I thought it was since they had a walkthrough specifically for upgrading the Station Launcher stating that it would upgrade automatically.

The walkthrough actually got a couple of things wrong because plans changed somewhat after the walkthrough was posted. There's also an announcement today that full upgrades to LP4 will happen on 12-6 regardless of what you are using now.

sigh, running the patcher , gives me a message ( the adobe you are trying to install is not the latest 1, go here to install ). it will bring up the new launchpad 1 time, but wount make changes to my drive. I have adobe 11.1.102.55 but since it says ( trying to install) i dont think its me. windows 7 home. and i am clicking to alow it to make changes to my drive. running launchpad v1.1.12. i am the administrator on the computer.

Can u install LP4 in a directory separate from the Game?

I am using eqll setup.exe that link. reinstall/repair. intalling will do a new ect, yes, then user account control pops wants to allow adobe to make changes, yes,error adobe installer 10.3 you are trying to download is not latest adobe. new launchpad shows up no change to drive. ran this 6 times so far. using link above.

I tried that and it want to download 13+GB which is the whole game - is there anyway to get just the launcher WITHOUT the whole game into a separate directory? I don';t want it my main game directory.

I am using your link. what happens is right after i click yes to will install a new launchpad i get error adobe10.3 installer is not latest version, I have to exit the adobe, new launchpad shows up (looks good ) but nothing is getting placed on drive.

Did you install the new launcher in a separate directory from your game? I am tyring the reinstall/repair but it acts like it wants to install the full game.

it says "the adobe you are trying to install, installer 10.3", when i run your link. I get the new launchpad but have to run your link eachtime to do so.

no in old folder all it TRIES to download is the new launchpad, using adobe installer 10.3 from soe.

either there is alot of these up here or there getting deleted as fast as i post.

i am using your link, it is calling for adobe, account control ask if adobe can make changes, if i say no install ends. if i say yes then an error pops up, adobe you are downloading (installer 10.3) is not latest version, nothing writen to drive new launchpad pops up.

its not asking me to install, its telling me the version that eqllsetup.exe is trying to download is out of date installer 10.3

Probably not. With LP3, it looks like SOE changed the rules so that each game installs its own private copy of LaunchPad and launches the game by running that instead of running eq2.exe. IMHO, any attempt to install LaunchPad in a separate directory likely wouldn't work and would break quickly if it did.

No you are right it won't work. You are forced to install the launcher in the directory with the game - BAD DESIGN.
