My first attempt with this at the druid ring with minimal players netted me the reward.  The next time with a lot of players and me fighting against both sets of mobs that spawn at different locations,  did not. 

The reason – I was swapping between the two  spawn points targeting the mobs and with the larger player presence I was not close enough for agro on the last named – result no quest update.  Disappointing!  You have to be in the right place for that last mob or nothing that went before matters.

Seriously, why do you guys/gals keep dropping the ball on things like this?

If 40 people kill the mob in <.5 seconds, do you honestly think it's working as intended? anyone in the general vicinity that hit ANY mob should be getting credit if mobs have this low of a hit point setting. You don't have to have a mob to insta kill toons, just have a longer shelf life.

Do we have to hold your hand in making these events?

I hate to say it but these has got to be one of the worst events I've seen.

First there was no announcement saying that it was going to start today.

Secondly the event is going way to fast and will most likely be over most players get to see it.

Thirdly it seems the best way to complete the quest "Whats Going On", is to just wait for the name to  spawn and let some other sucke...I mean players, run around and kill mobs at the different spawn points, because If you happen to die before the named spawns and you don't hit it, no quest credit for you.

Sadly disappointed

poor Gninja, he was expecting this event to last a week.

boy he just underestimate most player's will and very driven to burn the dragon ring event fast as possible, it going to be done by late saturday or early sunday morning.

there some players just keep going as if they got superbunny batteries and cut other players no chance to participate the event they going to miss very soon.

i am not sure some are using bot scripts while they sleep.

i just got my 2nd 100th tokens and still got to do 300 more tokens i need for mounts and cool house items.

Not happy with this event currently.  I participated in several of the "What's Going On?" heroic kills in the Great Divide this evening with no problem, got my updates fine standing at various points in the vicinity of the ring.  Then we hit 50% progress at 3AM EST and the event ticked over to Two Heads Are Better Than One, spawning the x2 boss for the very first time.  Killed him standing in the very same place that had worked for 3-4 rounds of the heroic version no sweat and... not a single person in GD1 on AB updated.  We switched to GD2 because Crushingfist was still alive there and beat him down.  And once again, not a single person received an update.  I know for a fact that I attacked the name and damaged and taunted it enough to get well up the hate list.  No credit either time.  So much for the first appearance of the x2 in Great Divide for this event, and I'm sure the Dragon Ring will be finished by the time I get back from work tomorrow night, so that's probably it for my chances of getting tokens from this side of the event.  SMILEY

Addendum -- Just killed him again at the 3:30AM in GD2, and once again no one got an update.  We noticed the questgiver seemed to disappear sometime after the mobs started to spawn, but before Crushingfist appeared.  We tried killing the giant pinned against the wall of the dragon ring itself to completely eliminate distance as an issue, with no luck.  The questgiver reappeared about 60 seconds after Crushingfist died.  Quest never disappeared from my journal at any point.

/bugged and tried to /petition, but the ^!($& petition function seems to be bugging out at the moment for some bonus fail.

We have the updated Quest now on Antonia Bayle named "Two Heads Are Better Than One" for the last two Dragon Events, no one in Great Divide 1, 2 or 3 have received a quest reward, many have petitioned or bugged this..  please sort this out.

You were right in saying the encounters progress with difficulty, but now we're not getting any credit for killing the second boss! Antonia Bayle has been sitting at 50% completion for over an hour and I don't think a single person has gotten a quest update.

What's going on?

Bugged reported twice.  At 50%  the x2 spawned in [Removed for Content] on AB server and was murdered.. only to find no quest update...  This was the same for GD2 and GD3 on the same server.

30 minutes later........

Same result across all three [Removed for Content]'s.. no update upon the killing of the x2.. including pulling epic back to the rings and not pulling epic back to the rings.

If you are going to make this limited time and that the quest npc's will disappear upon completion, then please make it at least WORK correctly

30 minutes after that........  can you see where this is going?  Yup... nadda

AB is already at 50%+ on both EW and [Removed for Content].  I went to EW participate, died, got in the kill for the named and in the end didn't get the tokens.  I saw others saying the same thing in shouts, they didn't get their reward, while different people said some got their rewards.  Something is wrong with the event.  How can you not see it?

How do you get credit?  Is it only one mob you have to be standing near and do damage to mob to get credit no matter how many others you participated in killing?   If so what is the /loc of that mob.  I will go plant myself near that spot.  It's a total pain to wait 20  minutes, fight all those mobs, then not get credt.

I was just in a raid that took Blount down on AB.  The total fight length was 2:39 long.  No one got credit for the event.  It certainly seems broken to me.

edit - sorry, the fight was 2:39, not 2:59

Yeah epic fail on this one... no rewards for the event and spire completion above 70% now. The knockback from the X3 named throws you so far you gte re-offered the quest when you move back and if it throws the tank out of the spire the whole raid gets out of range for the update.

So what % of completion do we think this one will be fixed at considering hundreds of players are out of luck on the tokens they should have recieved...... Great idea for an event but I doubt any serious testing went into the implementation.

Confirmed as bugged on Freeport Server.

Is not a hate list thing and I had agro as a tank, also no-one in [Removed for Content] 1, 2 or 3 got the 50 token reward.

In a few hours we will be at 100% and the event will be over.

I agree with others - it is darned hard to get a hit in on that last named mob.  Thankfully I'm a Ranger and can get a hit in from pretty far away, but most of the time the named gets burned down before most people at the event even know it's incoming.  Those that were guarding the other side of the spire are flat out of luck.

I think you should get full credit if you've engaged ANY of the mobs in any of the waves. 

Yeah, you MIGHT get the occassional slacker who just hits one then sits there.  But on a short-lived event like this I think that negative is worth living with rather than have tons of active players upset because they just weren't in the right place at the right time.

Just participated in the 50% invasion at the spires on Everfrost.  I know I tagged all the named, and not just one hit.  A lot.  I got knocked out of the spire area about 3 times, which meant I was out of range for the quest and had to accept the quest again when I ran back in.  After the event was over, some people got their 50 tokens, but some of us didn't.  I'm not even sure what the critera is anymore.  Attacking the named didn't help.  Is it the knockback?  If so, maybe that needs to go away or at least not let us get knocked so far away that we're losing the quest and having to pick it up again.

On AB also did 2 epic events at 7am and 7:30 am this morning EST and no rewards......kinda sucks.  I was in GD1 by the way.

We are also at 53% and 81% so AB will be done tonight and some people will not even have a chance to participate.....this event makes me sad, I am owed 100 tokens and wont get what I wanted because of this broken event.

Reset it, fix it but make it last longer AND let us get the rewards we deserve please.

I doubt it will last until Friday Night on many servers. So many people are going to miss out.

  • Doesn't cater very well to people less than 90
  • Progress is too fast
  • Pre-event announcements were poorly done
  • Started on a Thursday and not a Saturday
  • Mobs die too fast in the early stages so that you can't get on the hate table and thus fail
  • [Removed for Content] Dragon Ring is bugged badly in the later stages
  • EW has a HUGE quest dropping knockback
  • EW Epics gather on the rez point (which was supposed to be a safe area)
On that last one, a group of us from multiple raids in EW1 and EW2 decided to go into EW3 tonight as the epics had not been touched, every mob was in the very centre of the spire. If you died during that clear, you spawned under them and died again.
Edit: What I find most surprising is that the event is built around a progress/difficulty paradigm rather than taking the very sucessful RW PQ code for number of players in the area vs the mobs that pop out.

On Antonia Bayle:

At 8 am Pacific, even with the X2 bugged on the druid ring, the completion is 55+% meaning that from the time it hit 50% (sometime in the night) until this morning, there were enough beer runs done to get 5+% in just a few hours. Taking that into account, even if the x2 remains bugged, AB is likely to reach the next fighting stage sometime today just from beer runs. It's likely the rings will be done by the time I get home from work tonight even with the x2 bugged.

By 7am Pacific, the spire was at 99% but 'unable to complete' (the 4x is bugged). If not for the bug, it was entirely completed in less than 24 hours.

So much for a "the event will run for a week".

Competing for groundspawn is how most players will be able to get -any- of the items on the merchant. That's a heck of a lot of groundspawn to fight over to get anything.

Same thing just happened to probably half a raid worth of people on Butcherblock that just finished the event.  It's bull.  Who's bright idea was it to give the mobs a knockback that would push you out of the event area, and then make a sequential update quest?  Completely unacceptable.

I'd go so far as to say that the quest should NOT auto delete at all once you've got the first update to it, regardless of what's going on with knockbacks or anything else.

Make all mobs count to quest credit, remove knockback from all mobs and set the timer correctly for [Removed for Content].

Then patch in the fixed version so people can participate and not lose out because the event is over before they know it.

Also, I'd deeply appreciate the repeatable being left ingame so that we can aquire tokens that way too after it is completed, at least for a while SMILEY

First off,its going to be completed before lots of folks even know its there.

Secondly, the named does indeed knock some players so far they lose the quest and get no reward- and this happened to me when i saw standing in the middle of the spire DPS'ing it.

All in all,lots of people complaining in game, and obviously very dissappointed.

Add me to the disappointed list. And my housemate.  such a shame.  One of my accounts is due to be resubbed today and at this point I am so jaded and unhappy I don't feel inclined to do so. I probably will end up resubbing once I take a nap but god, what a nightmare. I'm so frustrated.

And what idiot thought 500 tokens for the x4 was a good idea? when you can only get 3 or 5 from the runs? Honestly?

I can't agree more.  Couch it however you like to save face, but restart the event with the obvious adjustments any fool can see are needed; you will win back some trust that the devs care about their players and have a clue how to create a fun event.
